Should I update the firmware in my T130?

The T130 I bought a couple of weeks ago shows the firmware version as V1.2_0815. Is this older or newer than the version on the Viofo website? Are there any advantages to upgrading?

If it's only reporting one firmware version, that's the front camera firmware version. Front firmware v1.2_0815 appears to be later than the version available on the website. For a long time, I've asked VIOFO to include the two or four digit year in the firmware version so it's much easier to tell if a firmware version is later than the currently installed version. VIOFO has added the year to several other firmware releases for other dash camera models, but the T130 firmware has not had the year added to the firmware version yet. I would recommend keeping the v1.2_0815 firmware version installed for now. There's no place to obtain that version from if you were to update the T130 front camera firmware with a different version.
