Hello,

I’d like to share with you my way of dealing with swelling battery possibility issue with sj4000 camera used as a dashcam.
I decided to get rid of battery completely and replace it with "dummy battery" made by hooking up car battery (with constant voltage supplied).
Here is my setup:

Just to be on the safe side I put a diode in my "battery" (it is Schottky diode in my case to limit voltage drop slightly).
Everything seems to work OK so far. Time and date is not being reset after main power is cut off. There no issue with smooth shutting down the camera also.

The drawback is additional cable dangling from camera and of course a need of having 3 power cables instead of 2 (permanent 12V, ground, and 12V through ignition).
I also put 2 step-down converters (12V -> 5V) to power up this configuration.

Regards,
Chris
