Super easy DIY CPL (GLASS!) filter for Mobius wide angle lens

Buy this type CPL filter:

remove glass from frame (carefully unscrew ring on the inner side that holds the glass in), cut out original lens cap, shove in glass, done! It's exactly the right size for the Mobius lens cap, no glue needed, stucks right there!

The way i see it, the dashcam is suppose to be a set it, forget it deal, if i have to remove the cpl, at night, it defeats, the convenience of set and forget..

Just install a dash cover, that solved all my reflection issues, i also painted the windshield pillars, flat black, looks better jn fact, that stock color..

i bought this item below twice from different sellers to make a cpl (glass) filter but the items (both) has lost on shipping:

the problem is that you can see the round black circle in the video, it "rounds out" (more likely cuts out) all the sides.
you need to cut some more of the plastic (the top part) from the lens cap.

Where did you buy it? Privately I drive a Fiat Punto, but for work I drive trucks, every day another one, so that won't work there.... I NEED a good anti glare filter...

Yes, it does, I see that too. But I don't see that as a problem since we have so much more viewing area than the standard lens...

How were you planning to install the filters that you bought and not received? The glas of the lens itself sticks out a bit (+/- 0.5mm).....

my plan was to glue the center part of the glass to the plastic cap with super glue (not the type of glue that leaves white markings)
and maybe the larger glass filter will hide the main body of the mobius from the outside.
i bought the first one almost 2.5 mounts ago and it was 30mm.
the second filter was 25mm 1.5 mounts ago.
i don't know why, but both of them has lost while shipping.
i will order the type you suggested (hopefully i will receive it!).

Have you noticed an improvement in image quality ? Do you have any video before/after ?

A super quick flick through his buy it now listings looks like most things with less than 5 items in stock are crazy shipping prices.

I think it may be a typo. The vendor should review his ad, because people will see that and go somewhere else. I am happy to hear you got free shipping.

Maybe you can find or make a funnel shape where the narrow end would hold the filter, then the larger end could be adjusted to be wide enough to allow the lens to "see" without interference and also act as a sun shade. Go to the local druggist and see if they have a pill bottle with a neck that may fit.
