Tapping sound stuck on format

So did a search for taping sound and didn’t find anything. DR590-1CH purchased and installed. Wasn’t real happy with the video quality but I figure for under $150 it’s what I got. Did some reading here, decided to format the card in the camera and that’s where the problem started. When I initiated the format the record GPS light turned on stayed on and it started making a tapping noise. Even when I unplugged after 30 minutes it continued to tap and the record GPS light stayed on. Not sure where to go from here

The card is a BlackVue 64 that came with the camera

So an update... formatted the card and reloaded the firmware. The carpenter inside the camera stopped making all the noise but still the camera isn't working. In an excellent experience from customer service I got a response from an email I sent to the vendor within one business day and they included a return label so they could check out what I may have done to this camera. Will update once I get word.
