Testing A810

some time
Yeah even if dashcam files get bigger, it take a while.
I am glad the A810 are now automated, and is " driving " for 12 hours every day, with a 15 minute stop in between each drive.

Here is the results.
Thank you very much.👍
Yes, these results are correct. According to my calculations, the total recording time from the front camera should be about 27-28 hours. I also had about 10% free space with a 128GB card, just like you. This is a backup for the Event folder, Photos, and other files.
Now I can say for sure that the new firmware 1.6.99ww is optimized for a 512GB memory card. And maybe even more...

This no longer brand new system do pack a punch, though i must of course also say that it is my first time with the 4K IMX678 sensor, so i am probably a bit easy impressed here.
The system like other 70mai dashcams have a not super impressive rear camera ( not bad ) but on the BIG + side you can pair it with the new accessory RC14 rear camera, which is the 1080p resolution starvis 2 sensor.
I am not privy to the price of this starvis 2 rear camera, so hard to say if it is a worth while investment to make.

The footage seem very nice, but i am not able to compare it to something similar in another brand as i simply do not have that, but i think it look damn fine.

I have not yet had the footage under the " microscope " so things like double exposures or missing frames might be hiding in there, but whipping up the below video i did not notice anything, but that could be luck CUZ if / when cameras do have these things its not like it is every 10 frames, so you have to " 1 frame " back and forth in footage to really tell.

Also this driving footage are not the best, i prefer to park 90 degree to a road with traffic on it, that way going over footage missing or double frames are more easy to see.

The first memory card in the A810 is the 256Gb PNY PRO Elite
Do you have RC14 rear camera footage for day and night for compare with RC12 ?

RC14 is not on official release as of yet, but will be in the coming weeks.

Yes! Also, the user shraybikus from the 4pda forum checked the 1.5Tb card and it works.:

But there is a negative side. The recording start time after switching on with the card filled is 2:30 minutes.
512GB - 50 seconds.
256GB - 25 seconds.

I noticed it took longer for the dashcam to load the 512GB memory card.

Viofo's A329 is the answer for anyone that requires a large storage space using m.2 up-to 4TB (not a mistake) and much cheaper and faster than micro sd cads.

Yes i have RC14 cameras, but it is a bit painful to swap in and out, it will be officially released soon

Having tried it in the car i can say there is a significant difference between the old models and the new Sony starvis 2 sensor camera.
If it is worth the upgrade or new systems will come with the starvis 2 rear camera i do not know, dont know the price on it to tell if it is a worth while upgrade.

You got to give it to the A810, it is for sure not memory card fussy.
These are the cards i have tested so far, and very few left in my collection to test.

PNY PRO Elite. - grey black - OK
Adata high endurance. - black red - OK
WD purple.( old non QD101 ) - OK
Kingston Canvas Go plus. - black blue - OK
PNY XLR8. white red - OK
Sandisk extreme plus. gold red - OK
Adata Premier pro. black green - OK
Trancend Ultra performance - black silver - OK
Samsung EVO plus. White - OK
Silicon Power elite. blue - yellow - red - OK ( old model no A rating U1 XC1 )
Lexar professiona. grey - Black - OK
Sandisk extreme pro. Black -red - OK
Kingston canvas select plus. Black - OK

It has taken some time to create 512GB of files. Over 24 hours!

With firmware 1.6.99ww
It writes to a micro SD card with a size of 512GB
Actual usable space = 476 GB
Total space used = 435.5 GB

Remainder = 40.5 GB

I'm not certain it has used all its space as far as how the firmware handles it.

Hi, what make & model is yours 512gb?
I just bought 1 yesterday and it ain't working with Sandisk max endurance 256gb even with the latest fw (1.6.99ww).
It just keeps prompting to format then fails and said, "low perf., plz switch mem. card."

I used a Vantrue 512GB microSD card.

Okay that’s about it for memory card compatibility for the A810, a system i think is fair to say is NOT memory card fussy.

Tested with 14 cards, and found only one to not work.

A picture of most of the test sample collection, others in operation elsewhere.

Updated this in regard to memory card compatibility, i found my Samsung pro plus in the Vantrue N5 system, so far just tested in 1 chan mode, will of course test 2 chan mode too when the A510 have been thru the last memory card i just put in it.

it's now available on their official website, but website mentions that it's only compatible with 4k omni, Can I use it for A810, I really needs starvis2 sensor for my rear setup.

The RC14 will only be compatible with the X800, as it has a different image encoding format that is not compatible with previous models. The RC14 has a "mini-USB 8-pin" connector.

P.S. The same encoding format in the T800, but the rear camera connector in the T800 is "USB Type-C", so it needs an RC24 camera.
The RC14 and RC24 are the same cameras as the SonyIMX662, but have different connectors.
