Thinkware U3000 Pro Review

Then that would be a big drop in expected functionality for me, whilst not a 'deal breaker' I most likely wouldn't bother with the LTE module if it can't communicate when in parking mode with RADAR.

Why do you say the LTE module would be windscreen mounted - for signal strength? most vehicle telematic modules are buried deep in the body, only a few have remote antenna so I'd imagine somewhere like under the top of the dash would be suitable.
It has windshield mount option or hidden in dash area. Either way i have one and I dont think there is a battery in there.

It's possible the LTE module is powered up when a radar or impact detection is made, and you just lose on demand live view functionality on super low power mode. Until we get one to review then it's guesswork what it does.

I believe it will power up with radar. But you will not get live view.

Hope you have time to test that on your review @SafeDriveSolutions looking forward to it.
We will see what I can get done. We are closed next week for SEMA. All the LTE stuff they dont want out until after mid november as we are currently testing it

Is there an IR cut filter on the interior cam? I noticed that from their sample footage, it looked like there is no IR filter so you get the weird colors in the daytime.

Like auto on or off? I did not recieve one yet so I can not comment at this time.

Ah, I haven't gotten an interior cam yet either. I just have the 2CH setup here on the bench, but no LTE module.
I have the LTE module and i even made a video of it. But waiting for release. Video is mainly on whats in the box. future videos will have all the details people crave

it is same as previous gen U3000.
Hi, I have a U3000 currently installed, would you know If I could just replace it with the U3000 Pro and use the existing rear camera cable and hardwire kit as this would save some work. Also do you have any information on the IR cabin camera for the U3000 Pro as I can't seem to find any info. model number etc. about it, or if it has not been released yet. Thanks

Its just above the interior camera info.

Have not verified rear camera information on cable yet. I think so because of how Thinkware does things

The three 4G systems i have tried ( 70mai and vantrue ) the 4 G modem is always on, and could also be acting as the hard wire kit, i suppose you would also need something like that to be able to remotely observe battery voltage ( the T800 allow for this )
I also think this would be what would allow you to wake up a otherwise off dashcam for a bit of live preview, CUZ otherwise a chip in the system would have to be powered just a little to be able to " pick up " when you " call " in for a bit of remote viewing.

As i recall in the old days, some 4G systems would not allow for remote log in while in deep low power sleep, CUZ the sleep was that deep, and this let down quite a few buyers.

Thank you - I get minimal reflections from the front screen so if it fits, I'll likely use the supplied polarising filter on the rear.
CPL filter will not work for rear camera. No plans to build one either.

Yeah it would all be in the UP hardware kit, not the dashcam itself, which as you say acts as the power source for the dashcam - in a low power state to pick up motion or impact detection. Then draw a lot more power when remote live view in etc.

I hear down the grapevine there's more 4G stuff coming from 70mai next year, so hopefully a more efficient node process so that less heat generated and can operate more stably in high temperature environments. Less power consumption by components would be great too

Asia is a much hotter climate then North America in my opinion. So you think they would be able to easily test this. But I guess it also depends on what part of Asia they are testing these dash cameras.

It's more hotter cos it's humid, guessing North America is just dry heat like it's here in a lot of Australia. I would anticipate that they would be able to test this quite well, no matter whether China or other regions in south east Asia. Don't think they'll be testing it in the Pacific countries though, that'll be even worse with the humidity 🤣

Yes, you can use your existing hardwiring cable and rear camera cable to replace the front and rear camera
