@Thinkware Dash Cam just updated their cloud app for iOS and it looks like they’re adding dashcams with LTE including an updated U3000 Pro. 🙂

Very cool! When should we expect more info about the U3000 Pro? I'm definitely excited to take a closer look at it at SEMA. 🙂

With the cloud connectivity, having LTE built in will be a huge improvement, IMO. Do you know if there will be further improvements like rich phone notifications, more realtime livestreaming (not ~20 sec delays), and the ability to livestream while the dashcam uploads footage in the background?

Hmm U3000 Pro. I know nothing......

Cloud is best.

Great, thanks.

Looks like it's still 4K / 2K, but adds a USB C port to give you the option of adding either an interior cabin cam or an LTE module (but not both) for cloud functionality. They're also adding HDR, and from this video it's helpful, but not super impressive.

HDR works only for driving mode. I'm curious about HDR vs SNV 4.0 for night time recording.

There's no mention of the resolution of the interior cam, but from its model number, it looks like a FHD 1080p model.

The manual lists a new model for the rear cam so we'll need to swap that out, but no surprise there. I'm curious if we can reuse our existing power cable and front/rear cable when upgrading.

Interestingly it also looks like the radar is switching from 24 GHz to 62 GHz, so K band to V band, which is awesome. No more issues with the U3000 Pro causing K band falses on nearby radar detectors, or on the detectors in your own car when you first start up your vehicle. I'm curious what other practical benefits there are switching to a higher frequency. For example, I could see it having better resolution and thus more precise object tracking now. Perhaps they've also made some changes to the radar beam width and height too?

I wish I would have know about this back in March. 😇😇😇

I’m loving the U3000 and its radar features so much that I can’t wait for the Pro version. I only wish they allowed parking mode with G-sensors or GPS movement, so I could use other power sources instead of just the dedicated dash cam batteries. Like a 12V LifePoe4 in my trunk or even a small powerstation via the ciggaret lighter.
Atm I have it wired to the cellink neo and its running 24/7 basically.

Ordered mine today. Will be installing it in an MB E class wagon.

Hopefully this will be a worthy upgrade from my old u1000 that is still kicking. The u3000 was a disappointment imo! Needed better video quality for the price.

I will be interested to see the quality and the cloud service functionality, I'd love to have my mind changed about Thinkware.

You can use both actually. Thinkware connected is if you plan to use its Internet features like monitoring over internet. If not you are good with just thinkware dash cam link.

Thinkware Dash Cam Link is to connect to the dash cam and view all the recordings, change some settings (if necessary), and use the live view to align the dash cam's field of view. While Thinkware Connected is to have remote access to the dash cam, it receives notifications.
