US dash cam market currently is very small, if you consider the numbers of vehicles in the country. Why? I did an unscientific "google trended" by keywords: dash cams, dashboard cameras, car cameras, etc. (for last 90-day period) US is consistently ranked at #4, and beyond, after Europe, and Australia.

Can anyone explain this?

Awareness? Laws? Lack of insurance intensives?

Lack of education and awareness. Every time I rant about how great dash cams are to everybody they all look at me with an empty crazy look. I give logical reasons and people still don't seem to feel they are necessary. They have to figure it out by direct personal experience where it would help. I think in other countries you may have more issues that bring out the attention or need of dash cams....like poor infrastructure or cold weather with a lot of wrecks, fraud, police corruption, some I don't know I'm sure etc....I read a stat somewhere that 1 in 3 cars in Russia have dash cams. Maybe also because they are closer to where these are produced...
