Review of the N4Pro S

Front
Inner
Rear
Daytime Image Quality
All three cameras deliver a well-balanced image with minimal overexposure or crushed shadows.

Daytime License Plate Legibility
Leading vehicles: Readable at a standard 4K level, very good.
Following vehicles: Readable at a standard 2.5K level, also very good.
Oncoming traffic (front and rear): Almost unreadable. This seems due to low shutter speed and bitrate.

Nighttime Image Quality
All three cameras remain balanced, and in low-light areas the front and rear footage is bright and clear.

Nighttime License Plate Legibility
Front camera: HDR prevents overexposure, so plates remain legible.
Rear camera: Some blurring at 2.5K makes plate reading difficult at times.

Drawbacks
The inner camera’s field of view feels narrow. If you want side coverage, consider Vantrue’s E360.
All three mounts exhibit noticeable shake—likely due to the unit’s weight and a weak mount design.

Technical Observations
HDR processing is somewhat harsh, especially in daylight. The front camera shows odd color seams in the sky, and the inner camera completely flattens fine details (for example, a plush toy on the passenger seat).
With HDR enabled the color shifts toward green; disabling HDR improves it, but colors still differ significantly from reality.
The magnet-mounted bracket feels insecure; I worry it might detach in a collision.

Vantrue N4Pro S vs. Viofo A329S 3-Channel Comparison

Front Camera Comparison
Day and night footage on the A329S looks more natural overall.
Both models offer similar dynamic range.
Night images are brighter on the N4Pro S, giving it a slight edge in low-light brightness.

Inner Camera Comparison
A329S is vastly superior both day and night, with a wider field of view and more natural HDR processing.
Daytime detail (e.g., the passenger-seat plush toy) remains intact on the A329S.
For side-view recording, choose the A329S.
At night, both recorders brightly illuminate the cabin thanks to infrared LEDs.
The A329S inner camera is a separate unit, offering more flexibility in mounting position.

Rear Camera Comparison
Both record at 2.5K, but despite a narrower field of view, the N4Pro S image is less clear than the A329S—likely due to lens and software tuning.
With HDR enabled, the N4Pro S is significantly brighter at night; with HDR off, both are equally bright.
The A329S more often produces readable license plates in rear footage.

This was my first product review. I tried to be as fair as possible, but I may have some bias. Thank you for reading.
