**Viofo A139 (3 Channel) - Looking for Optimal Parking Mode Settings & SD Card Recommendations**

Ich hoffe, ich wiederhole keine Frage, die bereits beantwortet wurde, aber ich konnte keinen Beitrag finden, der direkt auf meine Situation eingeht.


Ich habe den Viofo A139 3 Channel, den ich in einer heißen Region (Türkei) verwende. Aktuell nutze ich eine 256GB Blackvue SD-Karte (übrig geblieben und kaum verwendet). Die Aufnahmezeit beträgt bei Standardqualität ca. 8 Stunden.


Meine Hauptfrage betrifft nun den Parkmodus:
Welcher Modus ist am besten, um den Speicherverbrauch zu minimieren und gleichzeitig eine Überhitzung zu vermeiden? Ich verwende derzeit den Bewegungserkennungsmodus, aber selbst bei der niedrigsten Empfindlichkeit nimmt er kleine Bewegungen, wie z. B. schwankende Äste, wahr und füllt den Speicher schnell. Ich habe gelesen, dass die Bewegungserkennung im Allgemeinen mehr Speicherplatz verbraucht als die anderen Modi. Was ist im realen Einsatz die beste Option?
Die Audioaufzeichnung ist für mich optional, daher sind auch Zeitraffer- oder Niedrigbitrate-Modi möglich. Der Stromverbrauch ist kein Problem; ich konzentriere mich nur auf die Optimierung der Speichernutzung.


Meine zweite Frage betrifft SD-Karten:
Welche maximale SD-Kartengröße unterstützt das Viofo A139 (nicht Pro)? Gibt es empfehlenswerte Alternativen zur offiziellen Viofo 512GB-Karte, die 90 € kostet? Wenn es günstigere Optionen gibt, die genauso gut oder besser funktionieren, würde ich diese bevorzugen. Wenn außerdem jemand konkrete Angaben zu Aufnahmezeiten mit empfohlenen Einstellungen hat, würde ich sie gerne hören!

A slow Time-lapse setting will use less memory than low bitrate, and slightly less power, but most people here use low bitrate, because there is not much power saving unless you use eg 1 second time-lapse, which can miss a lot of action. Low Bitrate never misses anything, and it has audio to record the damage occurring even if it is not in the camera view. It uses a lot less memory than normal recording and the image quality is still good.

For the SD card, a 256GB card is recommended as the maximum, especially for 3 channel use. The 512 GB cards are normally not as fast.

If you want to extend the recording times while driving, turn the bitrate setting down, you will lose a little image quality, but it is much better for recording details than turning the resolution down.

I hope I’m not repeating a question that’s already been answered, but I couldn’t find a post that directly addresses my situation.


I have the Viofo A139 3 Channel, which I’m using in a hot region (Turkey). Currently, I’m using a 256GB Blackvue SD card (leftover and barely used). The recording time is about 8 hours at standard quality.


Now, my main question is about parking mode:
Which mode is best for minimizing storage usage while also avoiding overheating? I’m currently using the motion detection mode, but even at the lowest sensitivity, it picks up small movements, like tree branches swaying, and quickly fills up the storage. I’ve read that motion detection generally uses more space than the other modes. In real-world use, what’s the best option?
Audio recording is optional for me, so time-lapse or low bitrate modes are also on the table. Power consumption isn’t a concern; I’m only focused on optimizing storage usage.


My second question is about SD cards:
What’s the maximum SD card size the Viofo A139 (non-Pro) supports? Are there any recommended alternatives to the official Viofo 512GB card, which costs €90? If there are cheaper options that work just as well or better, I’d prefer those. Also, if anyone has specific details about recording times with recommended settings, I’d love to hear them!

I’ve read in one or two forums that some users experimented with higher-capacity cards and had success.

Yes, a few people do use 512GB, but I'm not sure that it is a good idea for 3 channel use. If you do use 512GB then I do suggest using the cards recommended by Viofo, or you may get slow card problems. I don't think more than 512GB is possible.

Viofo do say that 256 is preferable:

Some of our cameras support 512GB cards, please stick to the same type of card we recommend.

While 128/256GB is always a preferable and conservative choice.

The A329 can manage 4TB, the A139 was only 256GB at launch, but is 512GB in the specifications now.

Here is my experience. I have had 2 Viofo A129 Duo and my current dsahcam is the Viofo A139 3-Ch.

I use Auto-Detection set to Mid. I tried using low-bitrate contininous recording in Parking Mode and there are too many files to go thru.

I wish there was a button or voice command to change parking modes on demand. Parked outdoors, moving leaves on trees I may use low-sensitivity. Parked indoors in a well lit garage, I may use mid sensitivity. Not sure when I would use high-sensitivity motion detection. Maybe if I was parked in a very secluded spot and want to capture anything and everything.

For SD cards, I use Sandisk 256GB High Endurance Video microSDXC card for Dash Cam and Home Monitoring Systems. I also use the same cards (128 GB) for my 5+ Akaso V50 and other Akaso model Action Cams.
