VIOFO A229 Pro | Memory Card Error (SOLVED)

Issue:

A229 Pro SD Card Error

Dashcam:

I have A229 Pro, latest firmware installed.

SD Card:

I have VIOFO 256GB Industrial Grade microSD Card, U3 A2 V30 SD Card

Context:

I tried formatting the SD card using Windows
- using "GUIFormat"
- using "SD Card Formatter"
- using "Rufus"

I tried FAT32 and exFAT filesystems

Nothing helped.

A229 Pro still doesn't want to work with the SD card.

SD Card is not damaged.

SD Card is operational and recognized on Windows and Mac.

Funny you mentioned this video.

So my dashcam starts beeping after booting. When I press "rec" button the devices says "Memory card error, please format the card" and starts beeping again.

I have "VIOFO 64GB Industrial Grade microSD Card, U3 A2 V30" coming tomorrow.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Just tried. Same result.

take it off the gps mount, plug power cable into rear camera port and see if same result.

So, yeah. I've done that too. Same result.

I also plugged the dashcam to the PC. Windows recognizes the device but doesn't let in to browse the files.

what firmware is on the unit? Have you tried formatting the sd card through the viofo a229 pro?

It's got V1.2_240227;V1.0_231207

It seems to have the latest firmware.

I had 1 defective 128gb micro sd card from Viofo and it flat out failed really bad. But i could not even open it up on the computer. '

I have both: mac and pc. The sd card is fine. I can read from and write to the card from both pc and mac.

I have another card coming tomorrow 64gb from viofo. We'll see if that one works.

Have you tried on a mac yet?

Yup, that's exactly what I did. And just did it again, for good measure. Same result.

If you tired different cards and still got this message, the memory card slot maybe defective.
