I know enough over the years hahau are really clever
Rose gold for the winWell, if that’s the criteria, we should just go straight to the 888 model, in gold finish….
All the bells and whistles…! 🤣
FWIW, I hope Viofo continue with non-LTE products, perhaps alongside LTE-compatible products, so that consumers have a choice. Maybe an LTE dongle that plugs into the USB-C port that is currently used for the external SSD on some models?
If they can implement LTE as an add-on that does not have any detrimental effect on their core performance I don't have a particular objection. My concern is that some Viofo dashcams tend to run at higher-than-average bitrates, create larger-than-average video files, and run at higher-than-average temperatures. An always-on, LTE-connected dashcam might require a different approach to hardware and firmware, which may compromise the current high performance.
Of course, if they can deliver LTE on top of what their dashcams already do well, then they will continue to be one of the dashcam manufacturers to recommend.
Lol…It may well be a better use..! 🤪
I do agree with your overall thoughts though….Which is a bit of a 180° for me, as with my initial interests in the BV 970 Box the Cloud aspect was a main consideration….But I’ve sort of relaxed a bit on that in the intervening time and other functions and PQ aspects I find more of a priority….
That said, I’d love a Cloud option to come to Viofo at some point….But I fully agree, it shouldn’t be at the detriment of existing performance or environmental capabilities…..
One thing is for sure, it won’t be happening on the A329x or any other current model – the hardware is ‘as is’ and the ports all in use….
Perhaps a 429 model, either with built in Sim function or an external USB module with SIM card and even GPS eg BV CM100….(though, the amount of cables exiting the A329x is ridiculous as is…)
Better still, a Box/NVR type camera design, keeping all this stuff away from the actual camera units, which I’m led to believe they are developing…..
Why LTE? I have noticed, LTE/4G signal is often weaker than 5G in most places i frequent. LTE may have overall larger range, but in places where 5G rules, it is often much lower power and much slower to unusable. How about a 329LTE.....But joking aside, LTE has many useful purposes and creating an external 4G LTE Module like Vantrue would be fine. Just bring LTE already to Viofo is my thought to keep up with the times.

I been testing/comparing various cell carriers in my area since my pre-paid carrier (US Mobile) allows for use of each one of the main carriers here (VZW, ATT, TM)
The last auto related cellular device i have had, was a DroneMobile Remote Starter / Compustar branded kit installed in my car, back in 2016. It worked of 3G, and stopped working when ATT i think it used, killed their 3G network years back now.
I had to weed myself under the dash, to find and disconnect the DroneMobile Module, due its constant searching for signal was causing so much parasitic drain, it was killing my cars battery overnight.
