Viofo A329T (unboxing & first impressions) (Sony Starvis 2 IMX678, Wi-Fi 6/GPS, HDR, Novatek NT98530, 4K front + 2.5K telephoto + 2.5K rear, HDR all)

Apparently, as I always say, we seem to be coming to a conclusion that it would be better to produce user-oriented cameras with alternative solutions, that each user can like the camera that suits them, and that they should use it in different ways by purchasing accessories when necessary.

The a329s series comes completely user-oriented..

I don't know if it will be 4 channels, but if it is going to be a four-channel camera, it would be better to call it A429 A349 A249 or something else.

Let's wait and see, we can say it's almost here..
Fair point about user oriented solutions but whether that's worthwhile for sales will always dictate delivery of the products I'd say

Four channel if it is indeed coming, could be tied with any product naming release, I mean there were three channel versions of a229 pro and a329 already, so I'm guessing it was just a bump in the ax29 naming scheme year on year.

I do wonder if a329S is what we get for 2025, as an 'S' release kind of year, we haven't heard any new image sensors being in the pipeline from Sony and the Novatek chipset is just that, one chipset (to enable WiFi 6 and 4k60, pretty much just that). So maybe A429 will come in 2026 instead....

+1, +2, +3......

I can definitely see a use to a dual front camera - One with Standard lens and another with a Telephoto Lens. License plates can be tricky to capture at times from a distance. In a hit and run scenario, every detail matters.

It would be cool to have two individual front cameras, one with standard lens and another with a telephoto lens. However, Viofo would have to pay close attention to cooling and ventilation. 4 Channels would definitely generate more heat.

Being in a hot climate, does the A329 shut down for you (if you own it)? Or has it been steadfast reliable?

Hopefully that day comes but the sensor + lens assembly is so big already that it would be a tough job to have them side by side in a unit. One can dream though

I have the A329 too yes. It's behaviour is different to the A229 Pro - as the A229 Pro will display a message before it shuts down. A329 keeps going and the screen slowly blacks out (comes back when the screen cools down obviously)

I know nothing. I also will know a lot less next week when in China visiting @viofo 😇😇😇
Lol we can wait, it's all part of the atmosphere and fun of guessing what's coming in their products 😉. Don't need to sign any NDA's or nuffin' haha

I need 329s with two waterproof
And i need 329s with two long lens
So i must buy two 329s!!!

Is there any information on when it will be released!!??
Those that know can't say, and those that say don't know. That will be the case up to the time it's officially announced/released.

True, NDA's signed but I'm not that desperate to get back to that in tech haha

Just finished my last NDA, they can be a PITA because to have one means you are expected to thoroughly test a device or item. I have no issues with the confidential aspect of the NDA and frankly, it irks me when I see a influencer here 'spill' something they were told or heard. Many people do not understand that a conversation between them and another person is never expected to be repeated or made common knowledge. IMHO anyway.

That dual Telephoto/Standard lens in a chassis I think I mentioned here or perhaps to VIOFO in a DM or support email. Maybe not, but I think it is a capital idea and VIOFO should follow up on it. I still prefer the external IR camera, it just seems to work better as far as placement in my car for what I would like the lens to capture. To each their own and I do understand the desire for a single dash cam that house Telephoto, Standard and IR cameras.

Have you or anyone done an RF leakage test on the VIOFO cameras that have coax?

I generally buy two units, one for the front screen and one for the rear screen. I avoid the reduced frame rate of a rear camera that way, and I have two separate recording devices that improve the chance of recording an event. On each camera I have an IR lens positioned such that I pretty much cover everything in the car and any thing approaching from the outside in all directions. A bit expensive but works well.

Are you using two bluetooth buttons or voice control?
I'm thinking of using two cameras too.

Are the FCC reports not adequate? They do the tests with the rear cameras installed.
