Dash Cam
2026 Minimum Spec: STARVIS 2 & HDR & Low Power Parking Mode
1.) Maximum Reliability
2.) Maximum Image Quality
3.) Minimize Complexity
4.) Minimize Tech Support Inquiry
5.) Default Setting: HDR ON (all models)
6.) Default Setting: Bitrate Maximum

7.) Discontinue AUTO HDR TIMER
Auto HDR Timer results in 4 Second recording lapse during transition, (8 Seconds per day).
Any lapse in recording is unacceptable.
Now that HDR firmware tuning is “good enough” during daytime, HDR can be enabled all the time.
Here’s what the 4 Second recording lapse looks like, (occurs at 5:43PM)

8.) Reduce Bootup Time
Viofo A329S = 18.43 Seconds
Vueroid S1-4K = 0.17 Seconds

9.) Reduce LPID Power Consumption: 35mA to 1mA, (Vueroid & BlackVue)

10.) Add GPS Signal Strength (now that we have Geo-Fencing)

11.) Add Voice Notifications
a.) GPS CONNECTED
b.) GPS DISCONNECTED

12.) Add AVAILABLE RECORDING TIME under FREE SPACE ON CARD, (see photo #1)
Just like LCD Screen displays AVAILABLE RECORDING TIME in stand-by

13.) Add voice control Guard Phrase; “OK VIOFO” to prevent unwanted activation

14.) Optional Suction Mount for A119M Pro, (rental car & travel)
15.) 1TB Viofo Brand SD Card
16.) Upgrade D6000 CAR CHARGER with Low Voltage Cutoff Switch (12.4V / 12.2V / 12.0V / 11.8V / OFF)
17.) Include VIOFO Brand 64GB SD Card in box with every Dash Cam, (Thinkware, BlackVue, Rove, Rexing)
18.) Include HK6 Hardwire Cable in box with every Dash Cam
19.) Upgrade Mono Audio to 2-CH Front & Rear with Optional Bluetooth Microphone
20.) 6CH Box Unit, (front, telephoto, left, right, rear, interior)
21.) No Cloud, No ADAS, No AI, No H.265 (keep H.264 until 2036)
22.) What did I miss? Add below.
23.) Relax it's just a wish list.

I agree with all, except 21.
I personally prefer and use remote view/access over LTE.
To clarify - there are 2 types of 'cloud' implementation;
1) cloud storage for LTE/OTA backup of lock files
2) remote access over LTE

I like to have the option for number 2 - remote access over LTE (external LTE module) - this allows for remote tracking of the vehicle using the device's GPS viewing it on a map, but also remote access to footage on the camera and remote firmware updates over LTE connection.
This allows for access and maintenance over LTE from anywhere in the world, rather than having to physically be with the camera or connected to a direct/local WiFi connection.

I have no need or use for cloud storage options.

I hear you.
The whole reason Viofo has dominated the image quality game since 2019, (A129 Pro Duo), is because they're not bogged down with trying to implement Cloud / LTE.
Viofo has enough trouble / challenges trying to get existing functions / features to work properly.
Throwing cloud / LTE into the mix would be like juggling 10 chainsaws. lol
Reliability & Image Quality would be adversely affected.

You own a BlackVue right?
They've been doing cloud / LTE for over a decade, and it's still not perfected right?

If Viofo ever adopts cloud / LTE I will be devastated, and it will most likely be the exit of my dash cam hobby, and I'll be forced to go back to my other hobbies.

I fully agree.
Viofo is easily the best dashcam for image quality - and it's that way for a reason.
The A329T is the best camera out there in my opinion - just based on image quality alone.

My comments are just based on an ideal scenario dashcam (which will never come).

BlackVue cloud/remote view has gone down hill over the years. When it was first implemented it was very good.
They then started to remove/pay wall elements so they could sell to fleet companies, and the final straw was moving to Fleeta which basically lost all support for average customer using BlackVue app - because GPS rarely shows on there and they've removed features. Using Fleeta app, the things that glitch on BlackVue app work fine on Fleeta - so the ability is there, just lost support for main customer app.

Doesn't need to be fancy, all singing and dancing - just the ability to have an LTE access option for remote connection - or even support for remote access over a mobile WiFi hotspot (as opposed to long winded customer created workarounds) - if an LTE module isn't viable.
Viofo half works in Station Mode, allowing knowledgeable people to create custom workarounds to get mobile WiFi remote connection working - but it's a feature I would ideally like out of the box.

What I mean, is that as long as the dashcam has any kind of connection - then you can connect to it via the app and it works exactly as it does currently with the app.
As opposed to only working in direct connect mode of station mode.

For example - a have home CCTV cameras, where I can connect to them via the app when at home - but the exact same app works exactly the same when I'm out of the house on a different, non-local connection.
So the software implementation isn't too much different - as opposed to what people call 'cloud' as you're not running off any cloud system, or having cloud storage options - you're still connecting direct, just not limiting the connection type to local only
