VIOFO UPGRADED VERSION BTR200 WIRELESS BLUETOOTH REMOTE CONTROL

Just curious why do you find a button easier for WIFI enable than the voice command "Turn ON/OFF WIFI"? I have found the voice control to be very reliable so far.
Seems the best use of the BTR200 buttons are for functions not supported by voice control: Power OFF, Turn ON/OFF HDR, Switch to Time Lapse
Programming one button for Power OFF is perfect, it could be used to disable parking mode while in the garage with one quick button press.

Also, I'm not following how a short press on WIFI causes camera angle to change? Wouldn't you have to ratchet/tilt the camera lens on purpose to change the angle? Touching the camera body shouldn't change the angle unless maybe you're using the clear static mount?
Voice commands don’t always work well when it’s noisy in the cabin or music is playing. It also doesn’t hear you as well if you’re running a 1CH dashcam in the rear. Finally, since there’s no trigger word before each voice command (Similar to “Alexa” or “Okay Google” or “Hey Siri”), the voice commands sometimes get accidentally triggered by people talking in the radio, inadvertently messing things up with your dashcam, and for that reason I prefer running with the voice command functionality disabled altogether.

So I got the BTR200 and it's working flawlessly.
I especially like it for the ability to power off the camera when it's in the garage with one quick press.
Good job VIOFO.

Old thread, but they are referring to dual camera models, the short press of wifi changes the live view for front camera filling screen, rear filling,PIP etc. It is very annoying on my use of the A329 with short press of wifi changing view and long press (how long? ) being the primary button label function. I was finding I was possibly holding too long and it doesn't enable wifi (was waiting for audio confirmation as I can't really see the screen behind the rear view mirror).
The BTR200 button function I believe is a regular short press, it is a shame for my attempts so far that the wifi on/off side button rarely seems to work (compared to the main button for locking recordings). I tried mapping the wifi function to the other button (mute audio which works some of the time) but have same difficulties.
Edit: hmm, do all 3 buttons need to be paired? I have all 3 reliably working now (as per my later post below) after long holding each button until the LED flashed blue.

Yes I get it now. I thought Vortex was refering to the physical angle of the camera lens, not the actual video source being displayed.

On a side note, I don't know how the average user remembers the intended function of all the buttons. Their functions change depending on what mode the camera is in (recording, standby, playlist, etc.) Seems you would have to be a "power" user to remember all the button functions without a cheat sheet.

I like the way Vantrue solved this problem, they use a touch screen with simple menus. No need to memorize button functions.

Agreed. So many buttons with double functions, I previously had a Blackvue, 2 buttons, wifi on/off and mute audio touch button, once wifi is enabled you drive all its functions with the phone app, no need to attempt to crane the head in rediculous positions behind the rear view mirror to see the on-screen display and to try to remember which button you used 6months ago to do something when you last did it (or last read the manual).
Touch screen in a hot car has its own issues though, our other car has a nasty Novatek based thing with oled display & touch screen and the oled colour is all bad from overheating and burn in (admittedly the touch screen still works).

Edit:
Ok, I played a bit more with the BTR200, do you have to enable pairing function for every button? I have all 3 buttons reliably triggering their allocated function now, but I needed to long press each of the 3 buttons until it flashed blue, I thought the pairing function was only done using the main button! Let's see after a few unit power cycles and a couple of days between if this is now reliable. Talk about a counter-intuitive UI experience for this thing.

You only pair it once with the main button.
