After many days and hours trying to get my Parking Mode to work, I discovered that the Wifi App menu is missing a couple important choices. After I select the 'Parking Mode/Auto Event Detection', there are two additional choices in the Dash Cam's menu (that are not in the WiFi App menu).
I found that the WiFi App menu does not have the 'Enter Parking Mode Timer/Off/90 sec'; nor does it have the 'Parking Recording Timer/30 mins, etc.'
Without these choices, you really don't the full parking mode operation. I have two cars with the A129 Plus Duo cams and just got them set. I hope I have them set correctly. I'll have to be testing them out this week. I have not found this difference mentioned in any postings yet.

Welcome to DCT @goddi1 🙂

I can't say in particular as I don't have this cam, but with other cams I have I've seen similar things where App choices aren't the same as Menu choices. Given how the many different phones are configured, getting apps to work at all can be very tough to do; it's not 'one size fits all'.

So just use both menu and app to set things as you prefer since that works. If it's a menu-only choice the use of the app for other purposes shouldn't affect that setting.

Greetings Phil,
Yes, you are right. But when you don't know there is a difference, it really can cause confusion. I just posted this because it was news to me. I kept seeing that we can set a length of time for the Parking Mode to operate, and save some battery use. I kept looking in the App but did not see it until I searched the cam's menu...and there it was. I had searched the Forums but never found this difference between the App and the cam's menu. Good to know and hope others will become aware of it. At first, I thought the App was a good thing but I now don't like using it. Getting used to just using the cam's menu. 🙂
Thanks...

Once you get things set to where you want them there's not much value to an app except to view and occasionally download a file or two. Doing any more than this with files is faster and better suited for being done on a computer directly from the card. I've got cams with and without apps and neither way matters much to me. The cams do their job on their own and that's all I want. Of the cams with tiny screens I do need my reading glasses for them but sometimes I even need them for apps on the phone so again no big difference to me. Younger folks won't have this problem and it's not the cam or app's fault I'm getting older anyway 😉 🤣

There will be an app update soon, we have noticed this, thanks for your feedback.

Seems like you are talking to yourself

Nope- as you can see in the above post, Viofo does read what we say on these forums.

That puts him right up there as one of a very few cam manufacturers who listen to owner comments directly and communicate with us directly right here on DCT 🙂 With most dashcam companies even getting an answer from a tech-support person can be troublesome and take forever 🙁
