Vueroid Announces new 4K dash cam - S1 Infinite

Any anyone found where this camera is available? Looks very interesting to try out.
The S1 Infinite has not been released yet by Vueroid. My guess would be it should be released by Vueroid in the next one to two months.

I noticed that too @Grierts

I like their AI license plate restoration. I should make a public page for the AI model I made ages ago.

They have a new web page up with an amazon link.

But the Amazon link does not lead to anywhere.

@Vueroid ... I noticed on the images for the S1 the dash cam has a LCD screen, however, in the Specifications it states no LCD.

Same here. I have become weary of the VIOFO product line and the fact they still refuse to standarise on a single connector type for their dash cams. I am starting to need more cable types for the VIOFO product line than I needed for a year 1999 PC. 🙂

Going to step out of my comfort zone and purchase a S1 and test it, see how it goes.

It looks like the S1 Infinite's "Specification" section on that website page is an exact copy of the D21-4K 2-channel specification data. It looks like Vueroid needs to update that page with the S1 Infinite data.

@rcg530
@Vueroid

Have you seen anything on other specs, such as time options for loop recordings? I would guess there is only one perhaps, as it seems the file system pre-allocates space, and I would guess the space allocated is driven by the length of the loop recording? Changing length of the video file would possible change the allocated space on the memory stick, and that could be an issue.

I have not been given access to any of those details yet. If there is a loop recording length setting, changing it would require the memory card's file system to be reformatted to setup the proper pre-allocated / hidden files.

That is what I would expect also. For my use, I hope VUEROID does at least a two minute loop recording; I never seem to get all the 'action' in a one minute recording.

Noticed this on Vueroid Instagram today, shots fired at a certain competitor 🤣

Finally someone list the lens angles properly.

View AngleFront - (D)165° x (H)125° x (V)62°
Rear - (D)139° x (H)101° × (V)60°
Diagonal - Horizontal and Vertical, cant ask for more than that.

One negative though also one that is shared with just about any brand of dashcams, the rear camera seem to be not detachable / have a mount, so cleaning glass in front of it / around it, not as easy as it should be.
And any dashcam addict know clean glass on the inside too is paramount.

Daum....the dash cam wars are heating up!! I have to say, the VUEROID does have a snazzy body design that I like.
I mean what else is there to compete with currently?
No new image sensors.
Everyone is "stuck" with the IMX678.
Only way to be something special is to have stand out features.

I agree.
Also in this day and age it seem like most brands also know how to get the most out of their hardware, that at least before i feel have been a problem
For instance the A810 i tested, it have the right stuff inside, but just not able to do the low light plate captures like i have seen Viofo ASO do, but they seem to have upped the game which is nice

The wedge form factor, by far my favorite one for on glass systems.

2mA parking mode, wow!

It says it has:

Front - Security & Status LED / Rear - Security LED
I'm not sure exactly whether this is a LED on the rear camera or a LED on the front, but could be good to hint it is protecting the car in parking mode or even when driving and reduce incidents.

🤔 🤔 🤔
Maybe someone should measure it, just to check if their measurements are correct...

125 / 16 * 9 = 70, so why is the front only 62° vertical? An aspect ratio of 16:7.9 seems a bit odd, presumably it is stretched vertically when recorded in the 16:9 aspect ratio file?

According to the right angle triangle calculator on Google, H 125 + V 62 should give a diagonal of 139°, not 165°.

101 / 16 * 9 = 57, so why is the rear 60° vertical? At least the rear is fairly close to 16:9!

According to the right angle triangle calculator on Google, H 101 + V 60 should give a diagonal of 117°, not 139°. That seems quite a long way out.

@Nigel ... per RCG530, it appears that spec sheet is for the D21, it looks like their graphic department copied it over to the S1 promo stuff. Of course, it may still be the same specs, but I would expect some of them to change. That however, does not mean their math is correct, that or they are listing after-processing specs and not actual optical specs.

Good point, although my post was a response to Kamkar's post, whatever specs Kamkar was quoting, right or wrong. I hadn't bothered to check what he was referring to, I was just pointing out what I think to be rather strange values.

Hopefully when Vueroid correct the specification, they will put the actual values in. And maybe the values are correct for the D21 anyway, maybe the D21 image is genuinely geometrically inaccurate, and maybe the new dashcam will be too.

Maybe @Panzer Platform needs to measure vertical and horizontal field of view in addition to horizontal? The diagonal might be a challenge...

Well; for a lens AoV we would need the focal length, the aperture, sensor size and distance to be really accurate. Using this calculator and sensor size of 1/1.8, with a 1.6 aperture I have to finagle
it a bit to get their numbers. But, I am guessing on focal length, aperture and distance.
