Just found this posted on YouTube from a few months ago.
a segment that looks like it aired DiscoveryCanada back around May about DashCams that explains what they are and shows a small amount of behind the scenes at BLACKVUE

I believe they mention the TV show Canada's Worst Driver. If anyone has not seen it yet it is a really great show where they actually try to teach people how to drive better unlike the American version that was on that almost felt like a game show.

i will never understand why dash cams don´t get popular in country like mine
at Brazil if you lucky at court and they accept your video can be vital information to prove you right
like i aways say , better than nothing

and for price of what is a dash cam is a cheap investment whit large chance help you in case you need a proof for something.

While i can not speak for Brazil. I know here in the USA until recently with videos of extremely dangerous road rage in California as well as other states and the meteorite in Russia people see a DashCam as more of an invasion of privacy because it can record audio inside the car as well as how the person with the camera drives, and some people as i am sure you have seen are really poor drivers.

A second thing that piles on top of that is convince. I don't get into ANY car without a Dash Camera present anymore, and some times that means taking my camera out of one of my cars and placing it on someone else windscreen, and then plunging it in. Some family members and friends see it as a pain to have to wait a moment, or for taking up one of there lighter plugs, or they just think it is a silly thing to have in a car.

Lastly is brand awareness. People from over here seem to associate different brand names with different items or have Brand Loyalty for one reason for another. You see it in everything from food and clothes to cars and electronics. Sometimes it is good and sometimes bad. Some people do their research and end up with a great product and some just buy what other people buy and end up with something way over priced or of poor quality.

Like over here Garmin is a popular GPS brand I tend to see and hear about them more then the other big two (Magellan and TomTom) If Garmin were to bring over their GDR35 and sale it at places like BestBuy and Walmart as well as run a little bit of marketing i think it might be something the ordinary consumer would start to look into.
