that is correct.
i have the 940nm but they were a little bit weak (and 3mm in diameter), compare to what i used 840nm (5mm).
They gave a stronger and wider spread of lighted area.
 
I just checked and the Foscam ones use 850nm so they're in the middle - you can still see a slight red tinge but they've worked well for nearly two years now but we just use it to keep an eye on the baby bed. Supposedly the Tenvis cameras use the same too.
