What Should I Buy with Dark Tint

It looks like I am going to go with the BlackVue. Either the Elite 10 or the DR970X.
My question to you guys is, is the Elite 10 worth the additional cost over the DR970X?

Well things here are going in the right direction, sun is out but the winds are still high and motherly, so have to wear extra layer, which mean in car sweating like a pig with no window open.
But stepping outside and into the shade and it is like too cold.

Damn annoying i want to go shooting, but even little wind mess with the .177 peas i sling, and i cant stop aiming for little things.

A summer day here mean 25 deg C / 77 deg F temperature, and we have yet to get one of those, but if we are lucky this coming weekend.

It is 83F right now, a little overcast, supposed to rain later today. I haven't been shooting in a long while. I should do that soon; ammo has gotten expensive over the last few years. I am guessing that a .177 is a pellet gun. Is yours a pistol or a rifle?

I shoot a PCP airrifle in the .177 caliber 18 yo law abiding Danes are locked to without any hunting licence.
Most often hurling 13 grain slugs, and if not too windy i do not mind aiming for flies out past 100 Y, but i have only hit one out there so far, drilled hundred of holes right next to them though.
Also splitting cards out there ( not in every shot though ) at 118M 130 yards or so i will need 10 - 20 shots to split a card.

Closer like 50 M / Y no problem, flies live a very short life there before they are transformed into a hole.

A couple of my videos.

Not hard hitting though if i load up a 24 grain slug and push it to 1000 or so fps, i will not be the one on the receiving end of that, thats like 50 fpe at the muzzle.
Shooting those with 150 BAR as i recall
So aint no BB gun 😀

The 13 grainers i shoot around 970 fps so that give me 28 fpe or so, also not something i want aimed at my wrinkly old ass. ( shooting these with 80 BAR pressure )
This rifle will fairly easy give me a SD of 1 digit over 100 shot string, so it is not that which is to blame for a miss, the .177 caliber i do feel a bit flaky, i so wish i was able to shoot .22 which have a much better selection of ammo.

On a calm summer day i often dial my regulated pressure all the way back to 40 - 45 BAR and then i shoot 10.3 grain pellets shorter distances, pruning bushes 1" at a time or blades of grass.
With this low pressure and even if my rifle do not have much of a air tank, well i get A LOT of shots.
But mostly as you can see in the videos my rifle are tethered to a big 9 L bottle with 300 BAR in it to start with.
so i just connect, open the taps and let rip for hours on end, not having to worry about tank falling to low pressure where regulator fail to do its work.

And shooting constantly and with the pressures i use, i shoot my tank down to 170 BAR before i fill it again, though i could go as low as 100 really, but that have also given me like 7 - 10 hours of constantly shooting.
So even if you have to rely on dive shop or local fire department to fill your tank, there is air for a lot of shooting if you do not shoot the big gulp calibers of air gunning.

A good 5 shot group from last summer, 13 gr slugs 128 M to this gong.
The coin in the picture are 21.5 mm OD
Little low and to the left of where i was aiming.
400 13 gr slugs = 20 USD as i recall.
The rifles though and associated hardware, not cheap so when people hear the RPLY is often " that’s more than my AR15 "

Mind you you do not have to go to a 2K PCP rifle, if you are just having fun in your garden and only do like 50 yards or so.
Well there are a galore of cheap PCP rifles that will do that hole in hole, actually my friends cheap Chinese PCP rifles is why i generally do not shoot shorter than 75 yards, CUZ then my friend is hanging with me just fine.
short distance like 20 - 30 yards and 10 shots should make a single .40" hole in a paper target.
My friends Chinese rifles, well they do of course not have the butter smooth 3 way adjustable trigger you find on my Epic Airguns Two rifle, but that dont seem to hold him back.

I am impressed with your marksmanship; that kind of accuracy is difficult to do with specialized scopes and ammo. I did see a show a while back about some of the new air-powered guns, talking about 9mm and .308-caliber rifles; they were hunting deer, even wild boar, with them. All air-powered, super quiet, and not firearms, they were not subject to any laws or rules. I assume that was the US. They had one that was a barrel ****ed, so you always had air, of course they didn't mention any downsides, other than the availability of air. While I was at breakfast this morning, a guy asked me if I had ever seen a double-barreled revolver. I had not; it was a .22 Magnum, eight bullets, two firing pins, two barrels. Every time you pulled the trigger, it fired two shots. I am not sure what the value of that is, but he bought it because it was odd.

O yes the new big caliber rifles they are .72 caliber ( AEA Zeus )
But plenty of sizes above .357 / 9 mm some rifles now even fill with like 400 BAR 😱
There are also PCP shotguns.

I think someone also did a double M1911, which is pretty much just 2 of these " glued " together side by side, and i would assume just 1 trigger.
I had a M1911 when i was a punk kid, very nice but here just awful finding ammo for on the black market.

ATM i am using a 30 X discovery optics scope, pretty cheap stuff, my pension do not allow for me to go wild on the glass.

OLD 200 / 250 BAR rifles you can fill with a foot pump, if you are young / fit, but i prefer to use 9 - 12 L bottles i fill with my own big boy compressor also in one of the videos above.
But a compressor like that is several 1000 USD investment.
But lots of cheap small compressors that will run on mains or your cars 12 Battery that will easy fill a 500 CC rifle bottle, but these cant really do the big dive bottles.
but on the porch with a little compressor just boosting your rifle, that take a couple of minutes with one of the small compressors.

For the Blackvue, you can always consider the DR970X Plus Box, but personally I'm holding out hoping they make an Elite series of the Box given how much of an improvement there is with that line.

The DR970X Plus series is a bit lacking in terms of video quality, both with the front 4K cam, and the rear 1080p potato cam. The front cam is smaller than other standalone models, but the rear cam is actually bigger than others given the tamper-proof case mount design.

There were also some parking mode issues with the Box that we don't see in the traditional DR970X Plus. I don't remember off the top of my head if those issues have been resolved. It also draws more power than the regular DR970X Plus series.

If you want a compact 4K dashcam with LTE support, it's one that should be on the short list. You can also look into options like the Thinkware U3000 Pro, 70mai T800, and others. Vantrue has/had an LTE module, but it looks like it's been pulled for the time being. I'm not sure when they're going to resume selling their LTE module.
I have pretty much settled on BlackVue. I really like the looks of that Blendmount, which lets me get it where I want, with no issues of it moving or falling. I am torn between the Elite 10 and the DR970X LTE Plus. I like the LTE built in better than a seperate module. What I am asking is, is the Elite 10 worth the additional cost over the DR970X, for the video quality?

Having LTE built in is convenient, but it does make the dashcam bigger and bulkier. The Elite series is a BIG step up over the DR970X Plus line though. Better front cam video quality, way better rear cam quality, faster startup, low power / long term parking recording.

Well, it looks like it will be the Elite 10. At the end of the day, video quality is the primary objective. All the other features are void if there isn't usable video to review. Thank you for the information.
