Will dash cams one day end up like car alarms? part of the car?

in lots of cases car makers are still charging several thousand dollars for the same performance as a $99 GPS just because it's part of the car, you can bet it will take a while before something affordable and good is part of the vehicle

I am wondering when steetview will be street video, so you can preview a given route before you actually drive it.
Then again i dont know if this feature have any value, then again again i think the same about facebook....

Actually you can almost do that using Google Earth. Go to the directions tab and enter a starting point and destination. After the routing is complete click on the "Play Tour" button at the bottom of the directions list and it will 'fly' you along the route. It's kind of interesting but I don't know how useful it is.

I know this feature works with version 6.1 of Google Earth but can't seem to find it/make it work in version 7.
