Yi 4K Corner flaring issue

My Yi 4K images / videos get hazy and discolouration at the corner when there is a point light source (e.g. the sun). I am quite disappointed about this.

Sample images & video:

• Image 1: with light source at the top left has a flare / fringing at the right bottom corner
• Image 2: with light source at the bottom right has a flare fringing at the left top corner
• In the video, the sun is on the far right position (not directly visible) the image is hazy on the top right and there is a corner flare at the left bottom of the image.

Does your Yi 4K camera have the same issue?

Looks like the effects of veiling lens flare to me:

I suspect that the wide angle, relatively inexpensive, uncoated lenses used in most (all?) action cams exhibit similar flare characteristics. My YI 4K arrives later this week, and I'll take a look at how it reacts to flare conditions.

Get the protective lens for it. Has a uv filter, I've had 0 issues because I use it anytime I use the camera.

But this is normal for these type of cameras. It's the viewing angle. Thought action cameras are able to take still photos that's not their designed purpose.
