The Vantrue E1 is a single channel dash camera released in Jul 2022 by the Chinese manufacturer Vantrue. Vantrue has been manufacturing dash cams since 2015 and they have improved their dash cams over that time.
While we haven’t been huge fans of their earlier dash cams, the new Vantrue Element series, starting with the E1 are decent all around dash cams.
The Vantrue E1 is based on the Novatek NT96675 processor and Sony STARVIS IMX335 CMOS sensor. While not the latest components, they are decent and can be found in numerous popular dash cams.
Video Quality
The E1 records 1440p (Quad HD) video at 30fps with an average bitrate of 16 Mbps. Video quality during the day is very good and night quality is average. While most users will find the video acceptable, particularly during the day the camera is a bit pricey.
Features
The Vantrue E1 comes with a 1.54″ screen, g-sensor and has built in GPS. The camera comes with WiFi and has apps for Android and iOS. The E1 provides buffered parking mode if you hardwire the dash cam to your vehicle (optional hardwire kit required).
The camera comes with an adhesive mount and cannot swivel to record interactions at the driver or passenger windows. The squarish form factor is quite small with dimensions of 83 x 45 x 35mm.

While the camera is lightweight, build quality appears to be good and we have not heard of complaints related to the hardware. Unfortunately the camera only comes with screen error notifications.
Support
Vantrue has good support and is responsive to questions. They also provide firmware updates which is a positive as well. Vantrue provides a 18 month warranty, which is much better than most dash cams.

Sample Videos
There are a lot of videos on Youtube for this camera. While not a bad performing camera, night videos are not the best and capturing details can be a problem. You can see some reviews on our forum here, here and here.
Should I Purchase
The Vantrue E1 has decent video quality, particularly during the day and small form factor make this a unique camera. Camera is a bit pricier than others but overall a reasonable buy.
