CPL Lens Filter for Panorama II

Good afternoon. Question to the manufacturer. What about the CPL filters Panorama 2 will be on sale or not. Wait or make homemade as did Nico.

start a conversation is a PM

Thanks for pointing out. I will try to use next time not PM, but "Start Conversation", so it will be more clear for new users.

hi all

this afternoon I finished making & installing a CPL on my P II.

This is the video I took shortly afterwards.

There are still some reflections. BUT the colour is way better, with red looking red & green look green. So I'm happy:):):)

here the finished item, installed with filter fitted

And without filter

It's permanently fixed in place with 3M Outdoor double sided tape. The downside of this is that the tape is grey, rather than the preferred submarine;) black.

The base

is a submarine black plastic plumbing/electrical piece. Whilst the outside was of a good size, I had to excavate the inside to make it clear the OEM lens housing.
To which I added a more or less standard filter 37 - 49mm filter adapter

before, with the screw mount still present

After, ready to glue to the plastic piece.

Finished & installed

The adapter makes it very easy & cheap to remove & replace the CPL.

I may install a lens shade, if I can find a suitable version.

Do you think, cpl filter can improve video quality? Hope to hear your opinion.
Best regards,

this was taken yesterday morning, without a CPL fitted.
I prefer the CPL version.

and this this afternoon, with the same setting on the CPL

NB ALL versions have had their soundtracks removed.

In some stage I will try to do side by side test 2 x Panorama II, one with and other without cpl and put up comparison video.

Nice job David.
May I ask you to share a RAW original video files of day time with cpl and no cpl.
Thanks.

hi niko,

my videos are effectively the originals. The only editing I've done is the occasional trimming of the length. and remove the soundtracks, to ensure they're legal & available for viewing in all countries. Because I play my cd's in such a way that they are recorded by the DVR. Which youtube complains about. So I mute the music, using imovie.

both the cpl with & without versions are shown above

Good afternoon. I also made a mount adapter for the filter CPL to Panorama. So far, only the photo. Video review will later.

Best regards,
Good afternoon. After the test assembly with a CPL filter can confidently prove that the video quality in the daytime is much better than without the filter. And at night better without CPL filter.

Thanks for the reply. I saw the raw data from you upload file. It is quite different.
Take care

Good afternoon. Video review of how to make a CPL filter for Panorama 2 own hands.

Just wondering if a CPL filter will be sold by the manufacturer. I also heard talk about a lens cap as well, but can't seem to find one. I read elsewhere that there are those who got a cap with the dash cam. Mine never came with one.
