Well at first look it seems my GS5000 from Carefree Industries on Aliexpress is a FAKE. I had ordered a black one but they sent me a red one. The name on the PCB says RS2 Ver4 and the manual says RS2/RS3. No name of Manufacturer or any warranty info on the box or Manual. The top mounting block has a different shape than on a real GS5000. The real one has a flat front on the block my fake has a rounded top. There are no markings on the "lens." There was also no CD disc in the box.
The Specs on a real GS5000 say there are 5 resolutions to record in, but this one only has 1080P and 720P. The real GS5000 says 5.0 megapixels and this one claims 8.0. There also doesn't seem to be a GPS receiver inside.
Specs say:
GPS logger: Internal
Video format: MOV
Video Code: MJPG
I can't tell if it has an Ambarella Chip inside yet. I have to look at it under my soldering scope at work tomorrow. I will give an update soon
At least this one only cost me $70 with shipping. I am looking at another DVR and may mount this one in the back of my truck for a rear camera.
