China has the most insane traffic jams on Earth

I tried counting how many traffic lanes there are but gave up! Can't believe the smog levels either.

Wow that's bad, nice drone coverage to show the real deal.

Worst traffic jam I've been in, was when I was in Baghdad Iraq. (helped setup donated HP networking gear/servers/computers to the local computer institute/collage) This was at a relatively peaceful time when we thought things could get better and HP wanted to help.

We had armed drivers/guards at all times. Nobody obeyed the traffic lights so was a non-stop free for all. When we hit total gridlock, our driver/guards got out and fired a few rounds in the air, and suddenly there was an instant path for us to drive though.

A short time after that we were 4x4 off-roading over railroad tracks to get around another big traffic jam.

pollution in Beijing is insane

I know! Still, seeing it from above like that amazes me. I saw a nighttime photo recently shot in Beijing that looked like a scene from Blade Runner......giant corporate building with colored lighting glowing in the smoggy darkness.

I was there for a few days 2 years ago and the crap that comes out of your nose at the end of the day lets you know living there full time couldn't be good for your health

Jesus christ, thats 45 ( unmarked ) lanes of traffic ( on the wide bit ) i think even in the best conditions you will need a long way to get all those lanes funneled into 8-10 lanes, or Chinese drivers need to be much better at merging than Danish drivers is.

And i dont think they are, cuz when you look at russian traffic ( another country that was not long ago one for all and all for one ) well they pretty quick seem to forget the communal way of thinking, and adopt the western me-me-me way of thinking.

My teachers lied to me when I was young, I thought most Chinese rode bicycles 😉

I wish they would start doing that again, cuz then gas prices would be 1/2 of what they are now 😀

wasn't that long ago they did so your teacher was probably telling the truth, they're clamping down on things, if you want to buy a car in Beijing now it needs to be electric or hybrid or you can't get it licensed

It still freak me out, all the ppl living there cant own a car, but it still look like they do and judging by the smoke all the cars is old East block 2 stroke cars 🙄
