Vantrue E1 Pro Starvis 2 IMX678 PlatePix & HDR / The best 4k single channel camera in 2025?

That's pretty much what I did with my testing, wasn't that much of a difference. It seemed to filter the harsher frequencies a bit which helped haha
Have you performed any audio quality comparison testing of cameras? I have noticed a big difference E1 Pro vs A229 Pro with E1 Pro not loud enough. Voices sound muffled.

Not going to do scientific sound testing on it now, not worth the trouble if it cleans it up at the expense of loudness which just makes impractical

Dashcams aren't just for crashes or parking lot incidents.
Sometimes they solve completely different problems.

I recently ran into an issue with high battery drain while the car was parked. Turns out an ECU wasn’t shutting down properly and kept triggering a solenoid every 15–30 minutes. Something you could actually hear.

The dealership asked if I had a recording. Of course I didn’t, and recording for half an hour with a phone wasn’t an option.

So I placed the E1 Pro with a power bank next to the car and locked the video as soon as I heard the sound. Problem solved.

An incredibly simple fix for a really annoying problem.

I got a pre release firmware that has fixed the jumping video issues from the clips I checked.
This should be available to the public in the near future from the information I got.

With this being fixed I don't have any complaints anymore.
The temperatures are rising and I will report if I get any heat related issues. So far everything is good.

Same here. No more dropped/skipped frames on the pre-release FW.

I don't normally leave the E1 Pro running when parked (I use the E360 for that) but will keep watch for any temperature related effects.

Vantrue E1 Pro Dash Cam Firmware Update
Release time: 2025-05-08 11:23:37
Version: E1Pro_VT-EED161

1. Important Update: Optimized image quality (IQ) in PlatePix™ mode.

2. Important Update: Improved sensitivity in Parking mode.Note: The sensitivity of Parking Mode is determined by the Collision Detection settings. Adjusting this setting will affect the overall behavior of Parking Monitoring.

3. Optimized system handling for large-capacity SD cards in USB mode to fix occasional recognition failures and freezing issues that caused automatic restarts.

4. Fixed an issue where, upon inserting a faulty SD card, the recording interface briefly displayed in Chinese at startup.

5. Updated the Wi-Fi icon to include frequency units (Hz).

6. Resolved a problem where HDR would remain enabled if the device was shut down during a scheduled HDR timer period and restarted after the timer had expired.

6. Fixed an occasional frame duplication issue.

Is it just me or did the G sensor get more sensitive?
I already turned it down to 1 (Up/down) and the others on 2.
The G sensor still got triggered several times by potholes.

After changing to a different SIM card I tried the LT01 with the E1 Pro.

Please note that the USB cable of the LT01 has to be plugged into the USB port on the side of the E1 Pro to work. No matter if using the sticky or suction cup mount.
The correct setting for the LT01 has to be chosen in the menu of the E1 Pro.

After this was all taken care of, I setup the E1 Pro as a new device with the LT01.
The App nicely guides through the process.
Not even 1 minute and the setup is done.

The functions are the same as with the E360. Just with only one channel obviously.

I have noticed the E360 is more sensitive to road bumps since its latest FW update. I'll check on the E1 Pro - I did the update last night.

My parking sensors do seem to trigger the dashcam into taking a picture.
I had this happen with another company as well.
Did anyone else experience this?

I will search for the video and report it to Vantrue

may I ask if your E1 Pro is being used with the LTE module? If so, this behavior is normal. Regardless of which parking mode is selected — motion detection, impact detection, or others — once the trigger conditions are met, the dashcam will not only start recording but also take a snapshot. The captured photo will then be uploaded to cloud storage and a push notification will be sent.

I think you misunderstood me.
The sound of my parking sensors does cause the dashcam to take a snapshot while it's in normal recording.
This happened several times already and shouldn't happen.
Email with an example will be sent.

sorry for the misunderstanding, we have received the videos. I will let you know after our team check it.

After the last firmware update on the E1 Pro, I also experience a too sensitive g sensor when driving over speed bumps or pot holes, with all settings of directions set to 1.

My E1 Pro is more sensitive to road bumps on FW VT-EED161. I have turned the g-sensor default "3" down to "2" in all directions.

In another observation, I had one drive where the E1 Pro entered parking mode after 5 minutes of driving, and remained in parking mode for the remainder of the 20-minute trip. I believe the E1 Pro uses the g-sensor to trigger the switch from driving to parking mode. Has anyone else observed this behaviour on the latest firmware?

Thanks for the information guys!

This confirms that it's not just me.
Let's hope Vantrue can revert the G Sensor settings to the old ones. They were much better.

The Vantrue App had an update yesterday.

The new app functions are a new community tab and also the ability to activate the Vantrue intelligence.
The community tab does not have any content yet.
