FYI, some pics of the optional HK6 Hardwire kit which has the No Voltage Cut-Off function

As can be seen on the box label, the No Cut-Off option is enabled by selecting 12.4V on the Voltage Slider.

In all other aspects, the kit seems identical. With the new 'modular' nature of the HK6 this allows for an easy swap-in of the module box* to existing 'standard' HK6 installs.

* Perhaps a label or distinguishing mark on the box to indicate the No Cut-Off version would be a good idea...

Ah, I suppose this is the hardware implementation of the menu setting in the A329 camera that essentially enables the same functionality (though for that camera only):

I believe that option is for the CAMERA cut off...Even if Off is selected, a HK4/HK6 would still cut off at the selected incoming Voltage, the lowest being at 12.0V.
The optional HK6 allows for the ability to have NO Voltage Cut-Off at all from the incoming source – not something you would want if directly attached to your Car's battery but much more useful if you are using a dedicated external battery and would like, presumably, to use the full stored capacity of that battery....

This special version of the HK6 allows you to use the full capacity of a dedicated dashcam battery.

The user may still decide to use the in-camera cut-off option to trigger the hybrid parking mode switch to low power impact detection.

Well, bummer- I didn't know that was an available option. I just ordered a "normal" HK6 today...

I wonder if there is a DIY mod that can be done to turn a "normal" HK6 into the "no cutoff voltage" version. It it as easy as removing (or adding - as in a jumper) something from the PCB, or is it more complex than that?

Drop a PM to @VIOFO-Support, I’m sure they’ll assist if you want one…

I’ve suggested to them they should perhaps put the option on the main website, would at least make it a little more known about…
