Dash Cam
Viofo A329S, Vueroid S1, U3000 Pro & more....
I do like that he talks about the dash camera category. However as per usual here is some critique

There are many things I was not impressed with this video.
Thank You for reviewing dash cameras. However a few key takeaways.
1. Placing a dash camera at bottom of windshield is not a recommended mounting location.
2. A lot of the dash cameras were not mounted in a recommended mounting location
3. You do talk about parking mode however most of those entry level dash camera parking modes are very ineffective on the cheaper models
4, you talk about Rove and Red Tiger 4k and neither of them use a 4k image sensor I figure you would have pointed out that both units use a 2k image sensor.
5. The Thinkware U3000 has been replaced with newer U3000 pro. Which is a little better but that camera focus is on parking mode and daytime video quality.

I do think this one was better than his previous one, but there's still definitely room for improvement.

Given that the A119 Mini 2 also uses the IMX675, I was wondering why he didn't mention that it outputs a lower resolution than the Rove or Jzones and that those brands are interpolating up with low res sensors (fake 4K). He mentioned the 4:3 aspect ratio of the A119 Mini 2 as if that was fixed, without realizing that's easily changeable in the settings. He also mentioned it doesn't do 60 fps, but it does if you disable HDR, same as it works on the A329T where he did mention that.

It kinda seems like they did a pretty superficial test with slapping them on the windshield, driving around a bit (in the rain, no less), and drawing conclusions from that. No parking mode testing (which is also a big difference) or anything else.

The U3000 Pro is definitely a welcome step up over the U3000 it replaces, but its video quality and HDR still isn't as good as what we see from Viofo, Vantrue, Blackvue, Vueroid, etc. He basically just picked the best sellers on Amazon (and the A329T which isn't on Amazon), even if the Amazon ones aren't necessarily the best options out there.

This is exactly why I stalled my big video to try and get it right.

Funny enough I'm wrapping up a video now testing a cheapy 70mai M310 and comparing it to the A329T since that's what happens to be next to it.

Ah. This probably the correct section of the forums to have posted about his video, rather than Viofo Other, but my head was thinking just to comment about his comments on the Viofo cams he had in it.

Pretty sure Linus himself is not the one who did any "testing" in these vids. He just reading a pre-made script from this team members who did the "testing".
LTT has their LABS, but, they are focused on PC things, and, dash cams, really, clearly, is very secondary, low effort thing they do every so often.
Their recent video on Webcams though, feels much more involved and better tested and researched. However, that fits, as webcams is a computer based device.

A perfect example of why you should stick with what you know - and why people reading the review(s) need to check the qualifications of the reviewer

@SafeDriveSolutions
LTT Views Per Month = 76,000,000
1 View = $0.00714478833155
76,000,000 x $0.00714478833155 = $543,003
If I was earning $500,000 a month making YouTube videos I might miss a few things. lol

He also does a lot of sponsorships and in-video ads as well, though he does have a big crew he has to pay too, not to mention his warehouse studio and so on. It's not all straight profit to his pocket, but I understand your point. 🙂

@Vortex Radar
I can't reply to your post because of a DCT Malfunction, so I'm having to tag you with the @ symbol.

After sponsorships, affiliate links, and all the other passive incomes I bet he's pulling $1,000,000 per month.
But now that you mention the overhead, I don't think I could survive on that.
Hmmm, let me go look at your guys' Social Blade stats. lol

Views Per Month:
447K Vortex Radar
442K Safe Drive Solutions
131K BlackboxMyCar
29K Panzer Platform
26K RetroCarGuy530
8K Seattle Dash Cams

Ha ha....I can relate to that. Exactly something I would do. 😆

I think Linus also expect a dashcam to cover everything 100 %
That i have never assumed even over a decade ago when i was noob, okay getting close to 2 decades now.

The one thing most dashcams always did 100 % is log your own driving, okay they might miss a stop sign you ran, but the color of a intersection, even +10 years ago a potato camera would catch.
I think it is pretty cool what quality systems can do today, but still i would not bet my life on that.

Wouldn't be eligible.

I checked out years ago when Google AdSense said you had to have a certain amount of watch time and subs per month.

Yes but if it is your own " commercials " for not existing brands, i assume it fall under humor, though as we all know the google boys have precious little of that.

I sure as hell would not take google money even if my channel had like 5 million stalkers.

Well if your rich, wouldn't take the money. If not, every little bit of money helps

I pretty much see google like a drug dealer, i do not condone the way they make their money, and for sure not the way they behave.
I am deeply shadowbanned on youtube for instance, if i log out i can not see any of my posts there, and in other cases my posts are just outright deleted even if there is nothing in it conflicting with the rules.
