    New camera sleeps in.

No GPS. Firmware is 20141027, IIRC. It turns out I simply couldn't see the screen in the daytime (polarized glasses), so I'll just go be stupid somewhere else now.

    New camera sleeps in.

I did think of temperature, but it was colder most of the evenings (I work roughly 10–7 these days). But — major update — I've just brought the camera in, and checked the card, and it was recording. Strange. I could swear the screen and LEDs were off, but I'll have to take a very close look...

    New camera sleeps in.

My B40/A118 (from estore9009) arrived Monday. On each of the three days since, the camera has not turned on when I start the car leaving for work in the morning, but has turned on when I leave work in the evening. Is there any possibility I've done something strange with settings, or is this...

    C2 not starting consistently

I don't think there's a problem with the cable being loose. It's supported and there's no tension on it, and the camera always starts up when the power is turned on… it's just that much of the time, it freezes with the LED solid red instead of starting to record. There, I was talking about...

    C2 not starting consistently

Absolutely; the dashcam cable, at least the 2m version I have, very plainly has two conductors. (With the USB cable, which I have kept at my computer indoors, the camera always goes into charging mode (yellow LED) as expected.)

    C2 not starting consistently

No luck. Didn't start on the first attempt this morning, and didn't start on the only attempt this evening.

    C2 not starting consistently

    Thanks, I'll try that next.

    C2 not starting consistently

Unfortunately the C2 did not start recording on the first try this morning. The ritual of shutting off the car, going around to the back, opening the hatch, manually powering off the camera, and going back to try again, is not really something I'm eager to get into — particularly since a major...

Do You Take off Your Cam Against Theft?

I don't remove my cameras, or Scanguage or GPS (which is old and large enough that it's probably a theft deterrent). Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

    C2 not starting consistently

Thanks for the suggestions. I've now done an in-camera format, and a reset — it did start up, so I'll see how it goes tomorrow. The card I'm using is a Kingston 16G Class 4.

    C2 not starting consistently

I recently received my Innovv C2 (ordered direct from Innovv) and installed it in my rear window just over a week ago. After a week I looked at the results, and it has only been recording about half the time. This past weekend I switched to a bigger charger (the one I am using now is a tablet...

    Hatchback rear facing camera installation

Part 3. The other reason I had for going up to the console (which is easy — two screws at the back, and two clips at the front, which break) was to move the 5V supplies for my front camera and GPS into the space above the glove box, to clean up a mess of loose cables. So this is the end result.

    Hatchback rear facing camera installation

Part 2 I ran the 12V under the side plastic, after pulling the two marked ↑ clips, starting by pushing it under at the right and then reaching down the taillight access to it. Then under the carpet (which is held on by velcro), down to avoid the seat hinges, and then forward at the hump to...

    Hatchback rear facing camera installation

Part 1. As I considered above, I tapped the hole to bolt on a metal strip to hold the camera. 5/16″ (or 8mm for metric folks) works. There's enough depth for a 3/4″ (20mm) bolt, which is what I happened to have on hand, but 1/2″ would be fine. What goes on the other end of course depends on...
