    Formatting SD Card

Just upgraded to a DR750X-2CH Plus from a DR650GW-2CH. Picture quality is significantly improved. However I used to be able to format the SDCard once a month / once a week (depending on how regularly I drove) by pressing and holding the wifi button. I can’t seem to find anything similar on the...

    Approved Memory Chips?

I tried a 256GB Sandisk High Endurance. Within a week it slowed down to a crawl. Now when I insert it in to any system it takes forever and a day to even appear and is barely writeable or readable (if at all). All Samsung SDCards I've tried have either done that, or written once and not been...

    Firmware 2.011

Mine reset to default settings. But that's OK, I kinda wanted to do that anyway. Forgot to take note of the sensitivity settings, so I'll have to go through fixing that up after I go for a drive. My drive too/from work is usually enough for me to find what level won't trip them on regular roads...

    DR650GW-2CH, Firmware 2.007, setting time.

Ahh, excellent, so now on it's on this firmware it grabs the time the way it really should have been all along. Great to know. I've got the right timezone set up on my device, down to the city, so hopefully it adjusts time correctly when DST starts.

    DR650GW-2CH, Firmware 2.007, setting time.

I've asked this as an aside in other threads and just gotten shrugs, so I thought now I'd post my query in its own thread. How do I set, or preferably, sync the time? In the 1.X firmware you could do it via the app. In some screenshots I found online the app for 2.x firmware at one stage...

    BlackVue DR650GW-2CH (v.2.005_2016.07.12)

Does anyone have an answer to this question?

    BlackVue DR650GW-2CH (v.2.005_2016.07.12)

Just plugged my SDCard into my work computer, Windows 10 is reporting the rear video is ~5Mbps, front video is ~10Mbps. Anyone want to confirm what bitrates they're seeing? Being at work I don't want to play videos and look at number plate visibility. I'll check that out tonight when I get...

    Windows 10 App

I wasn't getting this in 2.50, but I am now getting this in 2.52. It claims to contain Win32/Spursint.A!cl. If it is indeed a false positive, then generally it's something about their code that looks similar to this virus, and it's something they should change as AV companies aren't very...

    BlackVue DR650GW-2CH (v.2.005_2016.07.12)

I installed it via computer as I was going from v1.X to v2.X. Downloaded from here - http://www.blackvue.com/support/downloads/ In case you haven't seen the steps before (they've been posted elsewhere, but it doesn't hurt to repeat): * Plug in your current SDCard to the computer back take a...

    BlackVue DR650GW-2CH (v.2.005_2016.07.12)

How do you set the time using the BlackVue C iOS app? In the previous iteration of the iOS app (for v1.X firmware) there was a "sync time" option, but I can't find that in C. My time is only off by a few minutes, but it's the method I usually use when it comes to DST adjustments. Don't tell...

Bit rate is about to increase in early June

Installed it. Had the options for higher bitrates at the very least. Tried to setup a config file before updating, but the update process overwrote the config with a fresh file. Had to copy it onto the SDCard again after the update. Now all good. Currently 8pm at night, I'll record some...

    Best micro SD card?

Depends on the error. Sometimes it reboots a lot, sometimes it just records corrupted files that can't be opened, sometimes it tells you. That's why I keep two cards and rotate them, checking one every so often (and can take my time doing so because the dashcam will always have the other card...

    Manual Record Button

I'm on v1 myself, but to my understanding it creates a separate event file which doesn't get overwritten the way regular files do.

DR650GW-2CH Firmware messed up, need help

I'd add one step to what Ralph2 suggested. On the existing SDCard, before you do anything, go into the "Config" directory and take a copy of config.ini. This way you don't have to re-enter settings again.

    Letter to Pittasoft

I was running 1.009 until an hour ago, it looks like the changes from 1.009 to 1.011 are just stability improvements (according to the notes I've found - keep in mind I couldn't find any for 1.010). Video still appears to be 8Mbps. No improvement there.

Bit rate is about to increase in early June

I have zero interest in cloud functionality. The only reason I'm looking to update to v2.X firmware is for the tap-to-save recordings. I have no problems buying larger SDCards, and I'd love to go above the 8Mbps the current 1.X firmware has. Using 64GB cards at the moment which last just shy...

Poor quality - unable to read number plates?

The cause of your problem is the bitrate at which videos are recorded. Being a new device I'll guess you're running the v2.X firmware, which has the front camera operate at 6Mbps. This is way too low. The 1.X firmware has an 8Mbps ceiling, which is still lower than it should be for reliable...

    64GB or 128GB?

I'm using 64GB Sandisk Ultra cards, mostly because at the time I either couldn't find 64GB Blackvue branded cards or they were four times the cost. They're still significantly more expensive, but available in 128GB now too which is great. The only reason I've ever had to replace any is because...

    Cloud feedback...

If you set the dashcam to connect to a wifi access point, you can currently only connect to it through the cloud app with the restrictions you speak of. If you set the dashcam to AP mode, you connect and control it just as you're requesting there. It's the only method available to those of us...

    Blackvue DR650GW-2CH _ (Custom firmware)

Note down what settings you've configured. Format an SDCard FAT32 (not ExFAT or any other format) Download the firmware version you want. Extract it and copy the "BlackVue" folder to the blank SDCard. Insert SDCard into BlackVue and start it up. It should automatically upgrade or downgrade the...
