Viofo 3 Wire ACC hk3 Hardwire Kit, USB cable is shieleded?

My car radio is quite sensitive to poorly converted 5V dc (I've binned what feels like dozens of USB phone chargers due to RFI). I have no problem with interference from the hardwire kit on my A129. This is a subjective observation, I haven't performed any form of controlled testing.

    Buffered Parking mode

There's 2 modes you could consider 'parking mode' One is event driven, the other is timelapse. The event driven mode will record on motion or impact - I've not explored this as I park on a busy road, so it would be recording all the time. Timelapse is has selectable time intervals, from 1fps up...

    Universal hardwire kit?

Hiya, I'm looking for a hardwire kit that is universal. Preferably one that supplies a socket (in the cabin light cluster by the mirror) that I can then fit a short USB lead to, for the dashcam of choice. I'd prefer this setup to one with a fixed cable plug, as not all cameras use the same...

Not auto starting, shutting down for no reason? Battery failure.

My 0803 has been somewhat erratic recently: not auto starting, shutting down for no reason mid drive, etc. I considered replacing it, so lived with the issue for a bit (I could manually re-start it and it would run for a while). An unexpected strain on finances suggested I should repair, not...

    Flashing red, extremly fast

Give it 10 minutes or so of being plugged in (and flashing fast, but not actually on/running). Mine does something similar when cold out (cold is <10deg c in my books) but seems to sort itself out after about 5 minutes of this behavior. I think the battery is tired, but I've not changed it...

Legal to have a Dashcam on border crossing?

A slightly similar situation: After returning from a trip to France, the Border official at the French ferryport was insistant that I turned off all recording devices on entering the port. Interesting as nothing was said on the outbound crossing. He didn't say why, and I wasn't inclined to argue...

0803 stop recording with chime sound

Hmm. Still doing it with the Itracker firmware. I notice I can re-start the recording by pushing the 'OK' button a couple of times, but it'll often stop recording again later.. Once it's decided it's going to be a pain, that's usually the theme for the journey. Some days it's fine though...

0803 stop recording with chime sound

Still getting the issue with a supposedly decent sandisk ultra 32. Just flashed the firmware to the i-tracker version mentioned at the beginning of the thread. See what happens. Anyone else still getting this?

0803 stop recording with chime sound

Getting it with mine now. It's a Joovuu unit bought about 3-4 months ago. SD Card is a 32Gb Sandisc class 4 - which I understand might be the issue, as the one time I managed to eyeball it when it binged it was complaining about a slow card speed. Swapping a Sandisc Ultra 32 which I believe is...

Audis seem to be coming up on my radar quite a lot these days...

Don't forget "Mondeo Man" I reserve a special dislike for drivers of Fiat 500s who probably have to get daddy to reverse park it for them when they get home..

    New Mini 0803 Mount Design

My JooVuu camera came with the new style mount. For anyone considering swapping, be aware that the space required to the right of the camera (looking out of the car) to disengage from the mount will be greater due to the extra engagement length. A minor issue, but one that might trip someone up...

Is There An Option/Way To 'Lock/Protect' Last Few Min Of Video via Button?

Doesn't this happen when the G-sensor hit's the predefined threshold? It's a bit low tech, but how about giving the unit a whack to trip the sensor? :)

Audis seem to be coming up on my radar quite a lot these days...

My Audi is a lot older than most of your encounters. It's not so much "Drive it like you stole it" as "drive it like you'll have to fix it"..

32G Class 10 card speed too slow... ??

I see no reason to return the card, as it is still working fine. I pulled it out today to assess its recording over the weekends road trip up the borders and the video quality is fine, likewise there appears to be no complaints from the camera unit itself about the card either. Out of interest...

32G Class 10 card speed too slow... ??

I ordered a 32Gb card from JooVuu when I ordered my 0803, they shipped a class 4 Sandisc and it's been fine so far. Maybe sandisc is a bit hit n miss, (I've got a dead one at home that expired without warning) but when you get a good one, it's fine, even a class 4.

    Startup when cranking = crash

There is a relay box in the plenum which I can probably get power from, though it's not ideal as I've then got to route cables through the bulkhead, along the dash and up the A pillar. The more I pull apart the greater compulsion to clean everything and thus a 2hr job takes all weekend.. Car...

    Startup when cranking = crash

No open slots on my model, besides I'm pretty confident I can get power closer to where I want it.

    Startup when cranking = crash

Yep, they're definitely preferable to scotch-lock type connections and the other horrors you'd often find behind a poorly installed after-market stereo. If I can't piggyback onto a spade type terminal behind a panel with proper crimped connections then I usually strip, solder and heat-shrink...

    Startup when cranking = crash

David: Not a bad idea, but it's the sort of thing I'd forget to do, and then there's the hassle of disconnecting the power and restarting when I do forget. I'd much rather there wasn't a problem, than having to work around it. Nigel: Personally I don't like the fuse tap idea, it's okay as a...
