[PanoIIS] GPS module no longer working

Got mine off eBay from SHPKorea. I wasn't aware of an internal battery in the GPS unit. Might open it up and have a look. My camera is hard wired in to my car with a BDP device, so I wouldn't have thought an internal battery would be a problem. It's also parked outside 24/7 so always visible to...

[PanoIIS] GPS module no longer working

Hi all. I have a PanoIIS with external GPS module and a month ago I noticed it no longer works. At the time I noticed the plug was only 3/4 of the way in. It wasn't fully clicked in. But now even when plugged in properly the LCD status icon stays orange and never locks on to the satellites...

    Memory Card adapter sleeve question!

Look up your card of choice with StaticIce http://www.staticice.com.au/ You might find a local shop with cheap stock. It'd definitely be cheaper than OfficeWorks. I've bought my cards from CPLonline http://www.cplonline.com.au/memory-card/sd-card-micro-sd.html and MSY.com.au

Just purchased PANORAMAII(II S) dashcam Full HD Sony CMOS LCD (No SD card)

I *did* have a thread showing pics here, but Imageshack is not behaving. Don't know what happened to my pictures: https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/my-pano-ii-installation.4432/ But basically, up behind the mirror, don't put it on tinting / the black stuff where the mirror is mounted. I...

    Mounting on Vertical Windshield

I'd use the double-sided adhesive tape instead of the suction mount, though. The suction mounts hold pretty poorly when mounted at 90 degrees.

Consolidated Panorama II, S & G FAQ & useful links

All you need is to purchase the external GPS unit. It's a box smaller than a box of matches. It will add speed and location to the recording, which, when played back in Registrator Viewer you can plot your trip on a map. It's helpful if you want to go to a location event, rather than trying to...

Panorama II - time is 1 hour behind

Okay. I updated the FAQ title and added in this information. I'm only going by suggestions to add to the FAQ or "common" questions I see pop up. I thought it was common knowledge that if the time is incorrect, you just alter your timezone +/- 1.

Consolidated Panorama II, S & G FAQ & useful links

I only went with the Lukas model because it has a slightly higher voltage cutoff option (12.4V over 12.2V). Also it's a slightly more compact unit and can come with a straight-through power cable that goes straight into the camera without having to use the cigaratte plug/socket combo - as shown...

    panorama lens cap and case

^ That's a daily dilemma I face. I work in a restricted area that doesn't allow recording devices, so I have to cap my camera every time I drive in. A couple of times I've driven 10km home before realising I'm not recording. I'm going to buy one of these and glue it to the lens cap. Quite...

    Powerucc Panorama2

Has anyone come across anyone using a small external battery to maintain power to the camera during the voltage drop when starting the car? I've started to notice some lost files when I'm starting my car and the camera rapidly shuts down and back on again.

    Screen protector

Yeah look for the cheapest one you can find on ebay. Just a generic mobile phone "kit" and trim it down to fit.

How long should the PanoramaS record after the power is cut?

That all seems normal. The capacitor is purely for finalising the video to file and safely shutting down. With the key in the ignition in the event of an accident it should still have power, anyway. If it's a major frontal impact, just shut off the ignition but leave the key on ACC and you'll...

    Panorama Q's

Look back over your footage. If you see a lot of files in the "Event" folder, then as Niko said, it's the g-sensor registering a hard knock. The latest firmwares have adjusted the sensitivity a fair bit. I've also heard three beeps when I start up the camera with no memory card. So again, just...

1080p and 720p settings capture different viewing angles

You need to brush up on how the optical sensor works. As sungmoon said, the sensor is just outputting the middle rows/columns to give you your 720p resolution. The cameras don't take the 1080p image and shrink it down. That would require a lot more processing power = heat, plus added costs for...

    Powerucc Panorama2

Heat is the main issue. The adapters aren't rated for dealing with the heat generated. I don't know about the CAD$ exchange rate, but we can get 64GB full sized SDXC Samsung cards pretty cheaply http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=171335031939 Much better quality than Sandisk...

    Powerucc Panorama2

Yes, if you brick your device whilst trying to upgrade the firmware, you're outta luck because you voided the warranty in doing so.

    Panorama 2 GPS Mounting Location?

The best use I've found for the GPS is in Registrator Viewer you can click on the map to find the location you want to look at. Say you had a near miss or witnessed something interesting on Oxford St, instead of clicking through the video you can just click on the part of Oxford St you want and...

June 2014 Updated English Instruction Manual for Panorama II S

I've tried to keep up to date with the Firmware updates on the stickied FAQ http://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/consolidated-panorama-ii-faq-useful-links.4388/ Let me know in that thread if I've missed any firmware release notes.
