2018 Volvo XC90 & 2018 BMW X3 m40i - what fuses can I safely tap into and do I need the mini or micro fuses?

I'll be installing the Viofo T130 in the BMW and A139 in the Volvo. I have no idea (yet) what size fuses my car has or which fuse locations to safely tap into to avoid any sensitive areas. Please guide me with specifics if available. I was just about to buy fuse taps on Amazon so I can begin my install but realized I don't even know what style fuse taps to purchase. Thanks for your help.

For your X3 I would follow this bmw instruction BMW advanced car eye instructions with regards to which fuses to connect to. If you pull a fuse out you can compare it to online guides as to which is which so you can be sure.

You likely have some spare (unused) fuses in one of the fuse boxes, take one of those and match it at a auto parts store, there are at least 3 different sizes that I am aware of.
