Why does a dashcam (box) have to be limited to a single microSD card slot? For a fantasy device, you could have 5 slots, one for each channel!

You are correct.
In my A229 Pro 2025 Improvement wishlist I was going to wish for dual SD Card slots that support 1TB each;

But then I decided against it because I thought it may increase system complexity beyond acceptable limits.
Also, I can see consumers inserting 5 different brands of SD Cards all with different speed classes, and differing amounts of wear & tear.
This could easily turn into a malfunction nightmare, not to mention diagnosing which card is bad.
So I stuck with a single SD Card slot.
