212 Lite - Powering down

I have a 212 Lite which powers down and then re starts for no reason. Also loses date/time.
The unit is several years old but unused until the last month or so.

Things I have tried:
1)Replaced memory card with a SanDisk 32Mb (Class 10).
2)Replaced integral battery.
3)Formatted memory card numerous times and reset unit
4)Removed unit from base and recharged via USB household power supply - Then unit works ok in the car for a couple or so days!

The unit is powered via a switched live fuse supply/cig lighter.

Any ideas please would be appreciated.

Not familiar with nextbase, but in general it sounds like you have a problem with the power supply in the car - either the connection from base to unit, or the power that's getting to the unit. Apparently it's getting slightly less power than it needs, and supplementing from its internal battery - but once that's drained, it's not getting enough power to operate.
