4K Omni landed

Am I crazy or A810 does a better job at reading number plates? I mean.. from the video, if I compare it with A810 I believe you can see the the plates more clearly despite the fact it's the previous version of the processor?

Well i have both, but dont feel much putting the A810 back in the car, it should not be a big difference really as it is much the same hardware, but again one would assume that the 4K omni contains lessons learned on the A810, not least in regard to image quality.
If we look over the entire day and so factor in low light performance, i think the 4K omni will win CUZ i do feel it do better in low light.

I don't have the Omni 4k and I'm not sure if I should get it because I had a very dissapointing experience with Omni 360.

And I don't understand why they didn't go with 2 cameras, one in the back, another one in the front plus the rear camera. Because when the camera turns around, it's kind of 2 way video, you can cover plenty of the area, and you don't have to make it 360. You know what I'm saying? With a nice field of view on the inside wpuld be a great choice. But as I heard, now it doesn't even turn on when it detects a collision

You mean like the Vantrue E360?
It has 2 cameras that cover 360Β° + rear camera. But it doesn't rotate.

Have you tried VLog mode?

No, not a Vantrue 360, I'm talking about 2 sided camera, front and interior, same body, but not a 360. How much FOV has the Omni 4k in the front? 148? Just add another camera behind the front one in the same body with at least 160 FOV. This would make a great camera covering the sides of the vehicle and you can avoid a 360 because of the stitching issue with a very good capability of reading plates numbers. And NT98530 is capable of 16mp but you don't need 4k in the interior. 2.5k should be enough. And when it's rotating it can cover a bigger area

You mean like the Viofo T130 front + cabin camera, + separate rear camera? That works quite well.

I think the horizontal field of view on this is going to be around 120Β°, so you are going to be quite a bit short of a full 360Β° view.

It wouldn't be the same camera though, the rotating Omni does a few things that a conventional dashcam can't, it is a fun camera, for taking selfies and vlogs! If you want a serious dashcam purely for accident recording, I don't think it is the best choice. For watching vandals, keying the paintwork, maybe it is a good option if the people tracking in parking mode works? Didn't work with the original Omni, and I've not seen it demonstrated with this 4K Omni, so I guess it doesn't?

I present you my own suggestion:

70mai Omni Dual πŸ’ͺ

Low speed capture of red light runners.

Low speed capture of red light runners.

You need that Operation Snap, Cloud Upload voice command!

Your 70mai doesn't even lock your vido file on hearing your swearing, unlike Viofo dashcams...

Yes those kind of drivers is the ones the kids talk about in the south park episode about the " F " word

Try the Vlog mode sometime, I think it spins around cool

Okay getting a little worried here, today the X800 " failed " with the #3 memory card, asking for a format, which it do with success it say on screen, but then immediately go to format card again.
This time the Sandisk extreme PRO
Other times it have done this the camera will format and then carry on, but not this time, i will have to test the Sandisk card now since it wont even do that.

EDIT:

Oooookay the Sandisk card is in read only mode 😱 no wonder then. ( this is actually the most expensive and also one of the newest cards in my collection )

PS. ill be damned if i can figure out where i got it from. 😳

Still strange the X800 will say it formatted with success.

Anyway ordered another memory card, other brand.

Updated card list with Samsung PRO ultimate

X800 cooking in my window sill, very - VERY hot in the sun.
Still 100 % operational of course, X800 tough little sentinel

Just added the Trancend Ultra performance to the list ( working fine )
The X800 not as hot today as the summer seem to bypass Denmark, or at least my big yellow friend in the sky.

I have added the old WD purple.( old non QD101 ) to the list of cards, this old no longer made card still made the cut and work just fine ( the very first 256 GB card i ever got so many years old, actually i got it from Jokiin )
I will not run the two silicon power cards i have, i dont think they got the stuff, and even so if, then the newest model the 3D NAND model, well that is the one that very often dont work and the old model that do work, well it too are no longer in production or have a newer model it would seem.

So the 13 or so cards i have run will just have to be it for this part of the X 800 testing, which might i say have been pretty uneventful, it just do what it do.

Edit not quite done πŸ™„ i will have to run the Adata high endurance in the X 800 too, but ATM it is in another system it would seem.

Adding the Adata high endurance to the list of cards, and i must say coming home in the afternoon today on the hottest day of the year 29 deg C, i did NOT expect the X800 going and going in my south facing window, and boy was it hot.
TBH i had expected it to have shut down fus it was in full recording mode, and the oldest footage was from around 7 in the morning.

Mind you it did run on a interrupted power supply so not constantly recording for hours on end, but a quick skim through file names and file size and i did not see any abnormalities that would indicate a thermal shut down.

So on that too a BIG πŸ‘ to the 70Mai X800 system
