"On June 18, when the heat record for the day was tied at 115, the 12 News social team baked cookies in a car. KPNX
It's that time of year again in Phoenix, when the serious heat starts rolling in.
On June 18, when the heat record was tied for the day at 115 degrees, the 12 News social team decided to bake cookies in a car.
The experiment began at 1:30 p.m. and lasted until about 5:45 p.m.
Video and pictures were taken along the way, and edited down to a short time lapse.
For the most part, the media content collected was successful, but there were minor bumps along the road as the heat would result in the Go Pro shutting down.
The cookies turned out fantastically and the 12 News broadcast team enjoyed eating some "Arizona Car Cookies."
This 'experiment' in turn goes to show just how hot it gets in cars parked out in hot Arizona summers. Too hot certainly for a person, child, or animal to withstand.
Remember to always Look Before You Lock when leaving your car."
