Should I stop using 7 cameras too?

It is only natural that you should stop using 7 cameras. You really NEED to upgrade to 8 or more.
Charging accessory use batteries in the car that could be charged away from the car is different from using a cam to record events.
There is also a risk of lithium batteries catching fire in the car.
I might charge battery packs in the car but would be aware of the costs involved in that decision.

The downside of recharging in the car would be a shorter alternator (or generator) life. I bet it is cheaper to buy electricity for this task compared to wearing out alternators.

I doubt that you could find a measurable difference in alternator lifespan. What really kills them most is engine heat which can be severe with the way modern cars are built for compactness under the hood. It would be cheaper charging them at home anyway; car alternators and car A/C systems are terribly inefficient.
