a129plus - big problem with update

There is a file: "How to flash". Did you do everything as it says there?

not exactly because i have not a rear camera.

- card 32GB formatted to fat32 in 1) camera and second time in 2) computer
- file FWA129S.bin copied on card
- camera to the a) wall charger b) powerbank c) car installation - original charger
- card to the slot, power... nothing, null, zero reaction, the camera starts recording

second pcs from shop - this same problem.

I give up

Did you use the GUI Format tool on the card?

If the camera isn't recognizing the file, then either the file name is wrong, it's not place in the root directory of the card, it doesn't like the cards format or the power source is messing it up (usually happens when users try using their computers USB ports). These are the typical things that mess with firmware updates.

"Download and copy the FWA129S.bin, RearcamA129FW.bin and RearcamA129FW.update updates to the microSD card (format the card to FAT32 file system first).
Connect the front camera to an external charger, it will start to update the front camera automatically. After updating the front camera, it will automatically reboot.
After restarting the camera, the live video of the front camera is displayed on the camera screen.
Check the firmware version in the menu, make sure the front camera version is up to date."

Try one last time.

I don't know if you read BUT

- file name it was IDENTICAL to name from official Viofo site;
- root was directroy of the card

11.jpg

- format - fat32 - formatted in computer and in camera
- power source - only car charger, powerbank and wall charger. I wrote about it . TWICE

no, because:

First format the card on a computer and afterwards with this program.

Are you sure about your version of the DVR?
There are three versions,
just +,
EMMC version
version of IR, all firmwares are not compatible, I am inclined that you have IR or EMMS, but you install the firmware from a simple +
Try firmware from EMMS IR.
I saw the marking.
But understand there are no such problems, no one except you, both on 119V3 and 129 Plus

Yes you have to be careful if you have copy files and one have been named XXXXXX.bin(1) or something like that, as a tester i have run into that problem several times as test firmware's can be the same name.

yes, Guys ! Thanks @Karagandinez @gse - you were right !

I changed name to FWA129SN, downgrading to 1.0 - it started!
Later to FWA129SN V1.5 - success!

Yes, mod version 1.6TST not working but now I know that camera is OK.

thanks, guys!
So you have the IR version. Mods for the regular model won't work. If you want to put the regular firmware on it (A129 Plus), then contact Viofo and tell them what's going on and they can send you the file to convert the cameras firmware.

I bought version A129 plus:
I suppose, judging by the markings, that you have 129Plus-G, this version with EMMC memory, and the firmware from 129Plus is also not suitable for it.
YOU are doing well now, enjoy.

yes, you're right, for version EMMC is dedicated firmware FWE129S.bin ( https://support.viofo.com/support/s...us-duo-dash-camera-16gb-emmc-version-firmware ) but ... camera cant see this file.
Only file for A129Plus - FWA129S.bin after change name to FWA129SN.bin

Only this, nothing else.

The serial numbers for the eMMC versions will usually start with A129PLUS16G. Likely some kind of mix up at the factory. @coderiese will want to change the camera over to a regular A129 Plus to make future updates easier. Simply ask @VIOFO-Support for the loader file for the regular A129 Plus model.

Your dashcam is A129 Plus. According to the serial number, it will only be compatible with firmware FWA129SN.bin.
Isn't the FWA129SN.bin firmware for the IR DUO version? He said he did not buy the IR version. If that's the case, shouldn't his firmware be FWA129S.bin?

Here you may find two firmware for A129 Plus Duo Dash Camera,

Check firstly your current build and download the right BIN file to update.
The first firmware named FWA129S is V1.5 Build 20210515 and is ONLY to be used on Build cam,
The second firmware named FWA129SN is V1.5 Build2 20211020 and is ONLY to be used on Build2 cam."

but... I have camera with Build cam... And only FWA129SN.bin works
