Any fisheye interior cam add-on for A229 Plus?

I have a Viofo 229 pro + HK4 set up.
Will the A229 Ultra interior wide angle camera work with my dashcam?
I thought you would never ask. lol
Here's what the FOV looks like, (before & after with, and without IR LED's illuminated)

I keep forgetting that the Ultra's Interior cam is a Starvis 2. Dumb question time. When used with the A229 Plus, the captured videos will still be of Starvis 2 quality and is not dependent on the processor in the A229 Plus?

You read my mind, I was looking for some sort of comparaison/ in depth hands on to see the difference of FOV.
Reading your post now and will reply in your thread

I haven't done any side by side image quality testing yet.
You may want to ask Viofo directly;

It is still starvis 2 since it has independent sensor.

I believe the A229 Plus & Pro support HDR on all 3 channels, so that would include HDR on the RNF210 fisheye camera?

The A229 Ultra fisheye cam is back in stock today, September 12th.

Looking forward to uisng it. Works with A229 Plus and Pro.

I received the A229 Ultra fisheye cam. I see the orientation is opposite to the interior cam on the A229 Plus. What I mean is with the A229 Plus Interior cam, the wire is coming out of the left-side of the cam. With the A229 Ultra Interior fisheye cam, the wire will be on the right-side of the cam. I assume there is no setting in the menu to flip it so the video is not upside down if I orient it the same way as the A229 Plus Interior cam?

There is an option of Interior Image Rotate in the camera settings.

This still doesn't seem to be available on the UK website.

The fisheye interior camera for the A229 Plus/Pro/Ultra is $90
This is the first time I considered an interior camera, I recently almost got sideswiped by a merging car on the highway. Missed by inches.
RNF210

Was hoping for some sales, but nothing so far. The cheapest option is AliExpress with coupons.

For some reason the interior cameras never seem to go on sale.
I haven't dealt w/ AliExpress

karagandinez does your fish-eye camera constant;y click in certain light conditions as it keeps switching from colour to black & white.? I have had this problem from day using it with a A299 Pro. I've sent sample video to support, but they have simply suggested aiming the camera down so headlights in the back window don't effect it. But then you would lose the fish-eye view of the side windows

Honestly, I don't know. The car in which this camera is installed is in winter storage and will not be used until April.

What you are hearing is possibly the IR cut filter. Most of these designs use an actuator-type mechanism to slide the IR cut filter into or out of the path of the lens. If the CMOS and software are sensing a mix of lighting conditions, the cabin lens may assume it is nighttime, so it goes into IR mode.

Thank you, I would have thought that there could be an electronic cut filter instead. At certain lighting levels it appears that the camera "hunts" and can't make up it's mind, there is no buffer or delay to the mechanism either. It's really annoying hearing the camera constantly clicking at times. It does not appears to be designed well, and I would urge people not to buy it.

This image of an IR cut filter assembly is not from your camera, but is likely similar to most of them. When the actuator is energised, that lever slams the filter slide from the clear to the IR sheet. That action is what you are hearing. It is louder in some interior cameras, less in others.

On commercial CCTV domes cameras such as Axis, the IR cut filter is done electronically. But I guess that this method is cheaper!

Yes...it seems electronic is much better. These prosumer Interior cams are relatively simple devices and can be inexpensive to build and sell, and companies save where they can. The only problem is that some do rattle. For the one I showed above, I ran a sliver of cello tape on the flat surface where the card/filter slides. That took away about 98 percent of the noise. But...I am silly at times and often take things apart to see how they work. 🙂
