Any webcams that can be mains powered? Or maybe a way to mains power any?

Hi,

Thinking of a project where I would need to mains power a dashcam - or perhaps convert the regular cigarette power to mains?


edit: hmmm.... just thought - aren't most USB powered? So a mains powered USB should work?
 
Yep, as long as you provide the proper voltage and amps, it's no problem. You can run the Mobius using the power adapter from the iPad, for example.
 
Just watch out if you use a AC adapter as most are unregulated, so if they are rated for 5v, the output could be as high as 10v if not more, they will be near 5v when loaded to their rated capacity but yeah.

If you use an AC to USB adapter they should be regulated to 5v.
