Best night time capabilities under 100USD?

You would think that the Dome knows it has a potential winner on its hand and gives the people what they want rather than watching this camera fail due to bad reviews.

Do the factories think cheap sells more copies?

The problem with short term exchange and return policies is we won't be using the camera every day due to different vehicles. That's why long term reliability is our primary focus next to features.

The typical cheap dashcam contains a cheap battery, which may last 6 months, a year, maybe longer. When it needs replacing, you may have the skills, tools, time, patience & inclination to prise open the camera case & solder the replacement battery. Or not. If any other component fails, you're stuffed as parts won't be available, in which case put the dashcam in your broken device drawer & buy another one.

Mobius is designed to be easily owner-repairable. When the battery fails, it's a 5 minute job to open the case, unplug the old battery & plug in the new. Better still, it's a great opportunity to replace the battery with the $6 capacitor kit, an option you don't get with other <$100 cameras.

If any other part fails, it's not a problem as all parts are cheap & available. Mobius is designed not to be disposable. You can fix it long after all currently available cheap dashcams have gone to landfill.

It's a total false economy - shame they don't offer an upgraded bundle and that way the consumer can make their own choice :)

I do wonder how the G90 would perform with a better lens, even something like the Mobius B lens. A project for a rainy day maybe :)
