Beta product field testing

I'd rather not list the scenarios I'm looking for as I suspect I'd get plenty of people that surprisingly happen to fit the need

Will be using a wide variety of users though

That's understandable. Good luck with the project, I'm looking forward to the resulting product.

If you still search for someone, i would like to test one for you.
If it rains, my car is leaking water somewhere on the passenger side, so theres always a higher humidity inside.
Could be a chance to see how it works with these conditions 🙂

That sucks. I've dealt with leaky T-Top and Glass roofs they are defiantly not fun. My current Camaro does not leak, but my brothers convertible does. Makes me wish mine was hard top.

Make sure your carpets do not get to wet. That's a good way to rot out your floorboard from the water and moisture

as well as smelling like a wet dog
That's true too. My brothers convertible is so bad he barely drives it anymore he's been driving a road legal project car we have been working on back and forth to work.

Yea its leaking on the right sides carpet 😀 Probably a broken door seal

Hi Jokiin,

I live in the countryside, where at night there's only the light of my headlights and the moon (if it's up and there's no clouds). The ambient light sensor on my X6 works well and what I do record at night in 720p is clear and crisp. As are the daytime videos. Of course I drive in-town as well with street lights and the videos are perfect.

In my area of Canada the temperatures vary from occasionally -10F/-23C to 98F/37C outside ambient and of course warmer inside a car sitting in the sun. There are heavy clouds some days and bright sunshine others, plus some days there are lots of individual 'puffy' white clouds that alter the light level frequently (every few seconds) causing the camera's light sensor to switch back and forth to compensate. There's snow in the winter, and rain quite a few days. Overall, a good mix of operating conditions.
Of course right now, the temperature is in the range of 16F/-9C at night and 21F/-6C during the day so no extremes before testing ends.

The size of the licence plates is the same as the USA, it's too bad they aren't as large as those in the UK, but a good test for 1080p clarity.

I mount the X6 directly in front of me, low on the windshield so that it doesn't obstruct my vision of the road, it hides just a bit of the hood/bonnet of the car which I never look at anyway 🙂.

I'm only interested in testing the GT2S because, after reviewing it's specifications and already having a great camera, the X6, which you produced (and that looks very much like the GT2S), I'd have the opportunity to get to know the GT2S before I buy it (or them, assuming I buy two).

If I'm one of the fortunate few, please, make sure the documentation is complete and the carrier has no reason to send it back to you... (thoughts from another thread re the G1W shipping issues 😉)

X6 is also known as F70, similar form factor as your soon to be field tested (in a Canadian winter? 😉) GT2S

Well FWIW your user pic might confuse some people.

I wouldn't have thought so but I know what looks like exactly, it is a small picture which doesn't help I guess

I will be posting some more pictures soon which will help clarify things I think, have been waiting on some patent paperwork before I do that though, maybe towards the end of the week if all goes well

I'm not sure what an X6 is but it's not from me

I have an X6 DVR which has been very good but I've just read this thread (last few pages) and am very interested in buying one of *your* cameras for the windshield, then I'll move the X6 to the back window.
I like the built-in GPS sensor rather than the plug-in & cable (I don't like cables but - the camera needs a power source, plus I have a 7" monitor to look at the playback in the car if needed - so 2 cables max!)
I've also read that there are many 'knock offs' of GS1000s which have had bad reviews so I would like to know how I can be sure that I buy yours with it's high quality and support.
I'm not in a rush so I'll wait to buy the A7-LA which runs cooler, which is good in automobiles, since I found that sitting in the sun, the temperature can get as high as 125 degrees F here in Canada, and a lot of the negatives comments were that the earlier A2s were too hot and the cameras failed, etc..

Hi, appreciate the interest, this is actually a deleted model that we haven't made for quite a while now, we still continue to develop the firmware though

the comments regarding A7 versions etc were in relation to this product http://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/guardtrak-gt2s-model-details-and-info.2844/ which we have coming out soon
I thought that you were referring to the X6, now I can see that you meant the GS1000s. The reason for my confusion is quite simple, the X6 and GT2S are 'almost' identical.

I'll have to have a look what an X6 looks like, not familiar with any others that look that close to ours

Yes that's because you know your product well, users here can easily be confused upon a quick glance.

It depends on how much detail you can see. I just clicked on your 'picture' and see the buttons at the bottom of the screen, they aren't there on the X6. The slider on yours is where the up/down buttons are on the X6. The Devils in the details as they say.
But the 'profile' of the case is, as I said, almost identical, to me anyway.

However, all that aside, I'd still be more than happy to test the GT2S 🙂

well I obviously have an advantage of knowing my product, once I've got the patent stuff sorted I'll post more pictures of ours and I think it will be more obvious how different they are

bigger picture here is easier to see http://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/guardtrak-gt2s-model-details-and-info.2844/ although there are some slight revisions that will be in the shipping version that aren't in this picture, very minor stuff though

difference will be most notable when the camera is off the mount, I'll post pictures of that later
