( P.S. - I split this DIY project into 4 separate post due to too many pictures + videos added in Post nr.4 )

Post 1.

After finished my previous project of DIY Magnetic bracket for quick mount / dismount ( see that project thread link below )

viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2169

... I still was not fully satisfied, because dash camera was not as stealthy as I wanted ( did not blend in with rear-view mirror ) and despite quick magnetic mount / dismount, it still took time and effort every time to find a correct place / alignment to mount it into correct place. Every time I needed to lean and look under the rear-view mirror to see that correct spot to mount dash camera.
So I was tired and came up with another idea for my new project.
First, I have shortened an original bracket about 1 cm, this way dash camera ( Panorama2 ) can be mounted more up to fully blend in with rear view mirror for stealthy look.

Post 2.

Then I have added a 2 additional DIY bracket mount ( base / pads with larger magnetic area) with edges on two sides that helping me to guide dash camera alignment.
Now mounting of the camera is extremely quick and I don't even have to look for alignment. Now I can mount dash camera into correct position even BLINDFOLDED :)
Watch my videos below in post nr.4 on how I can attach - detach dash camera quickly.

I guess you can adopt similar mount / dismount solution to any type of dash camera mount ( suction mount or permanently fixed, doesn't matter ). Just need some creativity and DIY.
Hope you can take useful tips / ideas from my project for your dash camera mount DIY.
If you have any new ideas/ suggestions, please share.
Thank you.

Same mounting technic can be used in back if the car.
Plus it can be used to hold camera on all metal pars if needed to record repair or new DIY.

Yes, now I am using opposite side ( windshield magnetic base-mount ) as a base for other dash cameras when testing them.
