I had a Blackvue DRG400 which uses a DC plug for power. I want to buy a new cheap dashcam such as the G1W but it uses miniUSB for power.
I already have the DC plug hardwired into my car, so my question is can I use an adapter to convert the DC to miniUSB, an adapter like this one:

Any info is appreciated, thanks

Your hard wire is probably 12-15V, and the G1W mini USB probably requires 5V regulated input. (I haven't checked for certain). Sou can do it but you need to convert the 12V line with a regulator to 5V.

Look up some specs on the two dashcams, this will tell you.

You will fry a G1W (or any other device that is powered by USB) if you do that without first converting 12V to 5V.
Korean cams use 12V, by definition USB is 5V.

You need something like this which provides a stable regulated 5V supply. I run my mini 0801 off one rather than relying on the cheapo bundled adapter and the horrible cigar lighter plug & socket connection.

One thing to remember is amperage. I would recommend a power supply that can deliver a minimum of 1amp.
