can someone recommend a reliable High Capacity car jump starter (as a pwoerbank) to power up one set of 2-ch dashcams for longer than 24 Hours in parking mode?, those are really cheap and i guess better off getting than the B-124E !...

thx.

Is it simply not doable or what !?...

Car jump starters need to provide a huge amount of power, but only for very short periods, their actual capacity is not enough to keep a dual dashcam going for 24 hours +.

A powerbank will be a far better option for long-term cam use. Those come in sizes suitable for this length of time with most cams, especially in parking modes ;)

so something like this wont work for parking mode for long period of times ?

am thinking it could since it got 18,000 mAh !...

I can't see that page from here, but a 20000mAh powerbank is enough for 24 hours with most dual dashcams.

If it is a genuine 18,000mAh then you might get 24 hours, but a lot of the cheaper units are not very accurate in their claims, also the mAh is normally measured at the voltage of the lithium power cells inside the powerbank, and car starters use LiFe cells to get the right voltage for car starting, but they have a lower voltage than the lipo cells used in most powerbanks, so 18,000mAh from a car starter can be significantly less power than 18,000mAh from a USB powerbank.

Why do you want to use a car starter instead of a powerbank?

It's not that it won't work, more that it is not optimum for the purpose of running a dashcam independently from the car battery. Plus it will likely cost more and produce larger problems in mounting it securely, keeping it charged, and in wiring it all together. If there's truly a 18000 mA output capacity it will roughly equal a 20000 mA powerbank in runtime so it's a viable option- just not optimum ;)
