Centralized place for reviews?

Maybe this already exists and I'm missing it, but would it be worth having a centralized place to post reviews? Currently it looks like most are posted in the forum under that specific brand, which does make sense, but when you're wanting to consider products that are not in the Comparison page it can get quite tedious going through every brand in the forum and looking for a review. Maybe under Dash Cam Discussion a separate directory could be created for reviews and then post a link to the review as a new post?

Example: a review for the Papago Gosafe 520 is currently under the Papago forum. Once posted there, create a post in Dash Cam Forum>Reviews called Papago Gosafe 520 review and put in the link to the review in the Papago forum.

That sounds nice but it'll end up with too many posts anyways as same product is reviewed by many reviewers.
You still have to browse to that subfolder anyways.

A simple search will bring results to click on.
Search for Papago gs520 review on title and you'll get the review link instantly.

Right, I get that, just trying to come up with something that might be helpful to users who have no clue what they are looking for rather than going to B40 and looking for reviews, G1WX and so on.

i agree, this could be a useful section, but then again, most of us that post reviews will put REVIEW in the thread title, so they're easy to search for as well.

I'm the one who first suggested a dedicated review section like in most other product specific forums.

The idea that someone can search for a review of a specific brand or camera like the Papago Gosafe 520 makes no sense because it excludes anyone who isn't already familiar with the brand or particular model. You need to be searching for that camera or be reading that forum because you are already interested in Papago in the first place. In a "review" section people can browse the reviews and stumble on cameras they hadn't previously been aware of. On other forums that have dedicated review sections I've read reviews for products I had never even heard of before and have even purchased some of them.

A dedicated review section certainly doesn't prevent anyone from searching for a specific brand or model in any case.

I'm all for it as long as the admin is okay with the extra work of managing that section to limit links to reviews only.

Having the review threads posted outside of the actual camera section they belong to would make them harder to find I think. If someone posts a review for the new JooVuu X, I'd expect them to go into the JooVuu X section. Maybe I'm not fully understanding yet, but doesn't seem all that helpful IMO.

Well, I guess what you are suggesting is the inverse of what I proposed. Unless one is already looking for information in a dedicated forum or thread specifically about the JooVuu-X one would never find the review but someone browsing a forum with a selection of various reviews would come across it and perhaps get introduced to it.

I think the new section will grow into what we have now unless the new section will have just the links to review threads all over the forum.
So it'll be just one line HTML page with links by date without any grouping or brands otherwise what we have now is the one it'll grow into.
