Since Russia is the dashcam capital of the world it's quite interesting to see this event was caught on dashcam.

Yet another reason to own a dash cam. You can now record the end of the world as it happens. Then you can post on YouT.....err....wait!
Here is another video with multiple dash cams and different angles posted by RT news. This is scary ****. If this is a precursor to DA14, we are all screwed.

I guess a larger land mass has a higher chance of being hit, the real difference though is that there are so many cameras that the odds of catching something happening are much higher

You make a good point although I guess Russia's history of famous meteor strikes extends way back before dash cams to the Tunguska event of 1908 which was partly why I made the above comment.

Here in the US many large meteors strike the atmosphere every year (world wide actually) that don't get caught on video but do get reported. The American Meteor Society has an interesting web site where you can read about them. They even have a "Report a Fireball" page.

Speaking of videos of meteors caught on dash cams, a fireball was captured on a dash cam in San Francisco, California on 2/15/13, the very same day the Chelyabinsk meteor came down in Russia.
