Going off all the muck on the road at that point, I think drivers may have swerved to avoid that dog previously :D

Yes, you can say that again....It was very close!
The dog was lucky that he didn't suddenly stop in fright in front of me, I feel I most certainly would've hit him. That would've really upset me and ruined my day! :(
